As he stood in the lounge waiting, he couldn't help bouncing on the balls of his feet as he impatiently looked around, hoping for her to finally show up. They had been away from each other for so long that he had almost forgotten what it felt like to hold her in his arms, how good it felt to have her lips melting against his, he had forgotten the feel of her fingertips dancing across his skin and he couldn't be more eager to finally be able to see her. Rehab had been hard, really hard but it was all finally over and they could now be together again. He had a rough past but never thought it would stop him from leading a normal life. If it wasn't for her, he wouldn't have realised what kind of monster he was gradually turning into. I guess seeing your mother kill your father and then shoot herself is not something normal kids witness. He despised his father for his villainous acts, he could still clearly remember the multiple nights he had come home completely drunk and lashed out on his innocent wife. He had swore to himself that he would never become like his father but as time went by and he started facing difficulties, the only solution popping in his head was to drink it away. It wasn't long before he started coming home equally drunk and heading straight to bed. He was turning into a whole different being and she was scared. She knew the story and she could see him gradually turning into the monster his father used to be. As much as she loved him, she couldn't let him do this to himself. If staying away from each other for a while meant that they could be like they used to before, she was ready to do it. He was beyond furious to learn that he would have to go to rehab, he said he wasn't an alcoholic and that he didn't need any treatment but when she broke down in front of him, he just couldn't say 'no'. She was hysterical as she sobbed, repeatedly telling him to just go and that he would fine. He had been there for a total of 3 months and it was pure torture. He had missed home so much, had missed her. Now that he was back and watching her as her eyes scanned the crowd, a visible look of worry on her face as she was unable to spot him, he felt like it was all surreal. As soon as she set her eyes on him, she was grinning and running towards him. He opened his arms, lifting her up as she reached him, not even caring about his luggage falling to the ground with a big thud. She kissed him hungrily, her hands cupping his cheeks and running through his hair before settling around his neck. Her arms squeezed him closer to him as he kissed her neck. God, she had missed him so much.
"I love you." the words tumbled from her mouth as she brought her lips to his ear and he grinned against her skin.
"I love you so much. Fuck, I missed you angel." The use of his nickname for her made me smile and she kissed him again,
"I missed you too, you're never leaving me again, you hear me? Never." she emphatised as he grinned at her. All troubles were forgotten when they were in each other's arms and they felt invincible. "Let's go home, baby." He whispered in her ear, "I'll show you how much I missed you." He tugged lightly on her earlobe, earning a hiss from her.
"Mhmm, I almost forgot the effect I have on you." He kissed the spot underneath her ear, "we'll have to see if you missed me as much as I missed you. You're mine, right?" His grip tightened on her and she could suddenly feel him pressing against her, the bulge pushing into her stomach and all she wanted was to get home.
"Eager now, aren't we?" He smirked, his voice low as she stood on her legs and grabbed his hand. She didn't reply but the flushed look on her face was all he needed.
------
"I love you." her voice was breathy as he finally reached his high, collapsing on top of her. Sweaty bodies pressed together, limbs tangled and hands running across bare skin.
"I love you so much." he replied, lifting his head from her stomach to kiss her lips and rolling so he was now lying next to her.
"Come here." He lifted his arm and she immediately dove in, resting against him as his arm enclosed around her, the feeling of safety already present.
"You know, while I was in rehab, I got a lot of time to think about things and I've decided that I want to settle down." he said, his fingers drawing circles on her hip.
"What do you mean?" she asked, lifting her head to look at him.
"Marry me."
"What?" her brows furrowed in confusion.
"Marry me, Jade."
"Are you kidding?"
"Does it look like I am?" his face was completely serious, not even the hint of a smile.
"You didn't even ask properly!" She huffed, "you have to get down on one knee, and where's my ring?"
"I'm not going to do all this,Jade. You know me." "I do." she mumbled, turning so she was facing away from him and snuggling in the covers.
"Jade, are you mad?"
"No." She replied, still not turning around.
"C'mon babe, if you want me to get down on a fucking knee, you know i'll do it. I was only joking."
"Really?" She turned around, hopefully.
"Of course. I have everything planned out. It's a surprise though." He smiled cheekily.
"Okay." She sighed, moving closer to him.
"Let's sleep, angel. You look tired." He mumbled, pulling her so she was lying partly on him. The last thing she heard before falling asleep was a faint 'i love you.'
