Our base, or rather training camp, has like all of the UNSC's camps for ODST's, squads, you eat with them, train with them, and fight with them. Each squad is built up of three or more people. Mine, well there are only three of us. Me, and my two closest friends, Connor McCormick, a young 22 year old Irishman who I met 6 years ago, at this point he's my weapons specialist. His accent faded away before we met, so I couldn't tell you when he left Ireland.
And then there's Jory luticrisp, my right hand man. If there's a time I ever needed someone to take over as captain Then he'd be there. Jory is African American, he's never gotten to see earth, grew up on reach. His father was one of the first ODST's, so in honor of the man who raised him he did the only thing he ever saw done, fight.
We never act like we're not scared that's what we have each other for. Learning your friends feelings seems to be the only way to stay sane. We were a family, we didn't speak of our past unless expressing how we felt which was rare. Like the ancient Spartans, the ones described in the history of earth, we go to a building filled with fear, not to face our fears, but to bind them, or in other words create a bond with our teammates.
I had a normal childhood and life, so I should have a personality and more to say. But I don't, none of us do. We walk this earth alone, and with the help of those who follow we survive
