"So, Eric, uh what happened I heard a scream and came running, thought it might be a farmer or something." I recounted the event and he responded with a simple, "oh..." Our ride back was quiet after that. Not much was to be said. Other than José was speechless. Odds are he'd need some sort of rehab after this. I looked at the clock on our dashboard, 20:37, should probably call Jarrett, let him know we're on our way.

I'm about to hit call when I hear José from the back, "What were those things back there?" Voice shaken.

Don't worry about it kid. I'll see what I can do, maybe get you some help, allow you to prosses things."

He smiled, shaking his head he said, "No, I don't want to get help, I want to give it. I know you guys are all experienced with this stuff and all... But I want to help. Do what you do, I just was shocked that we'ed get ambushed."

I was shocked, but kind of happy, this seventeen year old wanted to help us. "Look, kid I can't give an absolute answer, but I'll see what I can do." Its getting dark so I turn on the night vision on my viser, its nice because it outline enemy's with some sort of thermal detector, I suggested that Jory and Connor do the same.

The night illuminates in front of me. I hit the call button on the dash, it rings, but there's no answer. Not a big shock. Jarretts probably out on patrol.

A familiar DA DA ding, DA DA ding, repeats itself in my earpiece. I say "answer", startling Connor, usually I only answer a COMMS call on the battle field, just because that's where I get most of them. "Whatcha need, I'm driving so make it quick General".

" Eric I have luitenant Johnson at Rally Point Bravo. He has a... Uh let's say a gift. Its for just you. He'll install it into your helmet."
"Uh, OK will do. But do we have any extra armor at base? I have a guy, soldire here that would like to join my team." I reply. Jose's face lighting up.

"Yeah that's fine, as long as its alright with you. I'll  see if  I can get someone to train him, prepare him for what he might face."

"Alright thanks." The call cuts off and I continue on down the road.
