"You're a piece of shit, Giovanna."
A winter evening plagued with vicious words wasn't what Bruno had in mind when Giorno asked for a quick meeting. The tension had been rising slowly and it ended up in this, in Leone speaking from his anger. Anyone could say that he was barking, arguing with his words armed with knives. That was difficult to achieve for everyone but Giorno whose words were calculated and forced him to detach all of his limitations. Even the fire in the wood place spoke its mind crackling from the other side of the room. Bruno was a silent spectator, a careful position for being the boss. When Bruno sighed, it called upon a painful silence. It didn't last.
"It's always nice to hear your thoughts, Leone," said Giorno, keeping his body unmovable and regal in the middle of the office. Bruno analyzed this posture. With his chin up, he looked even more chiseled than before. He was wearing his usual attire, and his long hair - although styled beautifully in his traditional braid was looking particularly wavy, making a few stray hairs stick to his chiseled jawline. Age did him good, it transformed him into a man that knew where pride could be held and it was big, big enough for any man to feel threatened in his presence. Time helped him forge his insecurities into hard shells that Giorno used as bullets. When it was time to shoot, he never missed. He knew how to aim, he was taught how to.
Giorno's eyes were tough, unmovable like a rock carved from drips of filtered water. Bruno could tell just by looking at him that he had a lot to say, the kind of information that should not be taken for granted. That was a step forward in understanding his motivations. As anyone who entered Bruno's office with beneful intentions was free to explain his ideas; Leone had the same liberty, too. They both had to be patient. Giorno could almost hear him growl under his breath.
"Why the fuck do you think we can just break the contract with the Colombo Family, huh?" He almost screamed, slamming his open hands into the wood of Bruno's desk. The sting from the impact didn't bother him, Giorno's eyes did. "Just because you're just about to get Bruno's position doesn't mean you get to destroy everything he worked for. Learn your place."
Giorno scoffed at him, that got Leone to get even redder. "So dramatic, Leone. You know me better than that."
"That's why I know you're full of shit." Giorno didn't flinch as Leone took some air into his lungs, seething anger. Bruno saw it clearly, the fire. The Boss usually could tell what his heir was thinking, but lately, he kept things to himself. It was understandable, to some degree. He was older, wiser and had his personal intel team. Bruno knew that Passione was a group held by the very tight fiber of loyalty and that Giorno would never betray him, so that was far away from his concerns. It just felt strange and new to realize that Giorno took steps on his own, all to culminate in this. It had been a while since he stopped being his apprentice and was allowed to be on important meetings in the name of the Boss. That made him stand on his own, and as expected, Giorno came into this particular meeting with more information in his possession. This was just like Bruno wanted it to be. If he kept going like this, Giorno would become a Cross of his own, a leader. Even now, with Leone on the edge of his nerves and him staying silent as a grave, Giorno was holding himself together. That meant that he would let the insults come. Nothing would get to him. As of now, Giorno Giovanna was untouchable.
"I investigated this beforehand. I promise you, your concern is misplaced."
Leone laughed openly at him, crossing his arms in front of his chest. Bruno side-eyed him to try to calm him down but it didn't work. In fact, Leone didn't notice at all. He was busy trying to repel Giorno rather than understand him. The Heir knew this, Bruno could tell that he was walking slowly around the office to gain some time for himself. Good words could come with time, but Giorno already had them planned down. He was just pacing, grabbing momentum to get Leone to ease down his anger and let him speak. This was done just to get the steam out of the room. Bruno followed him in the same silence that was bestowed upon him since Giorno entered his office. Leone spoke again, this time with sparks coming out of his eyes.
