"How's it going? I still don't like this."

My roommate despised online dating and believed everyone on Tinder was a serial killer or rapist.

"What does that make me, then?" I'd asked as I left to meet Dominic.

"An idiot who should have known better!" she yelled as I slammed the door.

I groaned at her text and shoved my phone in my pocket.

Dominic smiled and looked around - not another soul in sight on the beach - and pulled me into the shadows under the pier for a kiss.
