3rd persons pov

Will sat on a bench outside the school recalling today's events

Flashback from earlier

Will walked with max, Lucas and Dustin, Mike and el slowly trailing behind the group.

Im an embarrassment

Will mentally cringed remembering the canteen incident feeling embarrassed and shy.
Will began to feel nervous as the group were leaving the school.
Fumbling with his sleeves he turned to the group who were dabating about something that will wasn't paying attention to.

A familiar song was heard from afar causing will head to snap in the direction of the gate the sound getting louder by the second.

Will smiled as he saw his brothers car pull up at the school gate doing small hand movements to their favourite song should I stay or should I go by the clash.

Will smiled at his 'friends' and waved awkwardly as they smiled and said goodbye.

"hey will" max blurted stepping closer to the boy who was leaving. Will arched his brow in response. "wanna come to starcourt with us". The brunette paused debating.

They just feel bad for you
They think your a baby

"N-no thanks I'm busy t-today" he muttered continuing to play with his sleeves. Max nodded and walked back to the others who were talking amongst themselves.

"So" jonathan bellowed loudly scaring will as he drove "make new friends"?
Will thought for a minute

Are they my friends or do they just pity me? I think max and Dustin are my friends.... Right.?

"y-yeah" he finally chocked out smiling at the older who hummed in response. "I took some great photos of a lake I found" Jonathan began in a teasing tone.

"can I see them?" will asked curiosity in his tone. The older shrugged slightly "i don't know can you"? he giggled causing the younger to frown for a few seconds until the two erupted into a fit of giggles.

"wanna get ice-cream, there's a place called scoops or Something at the mall" will nodded eagerly as the two chatted happily.

Max Mayfield walked slowly with her friends silently, occasionally laughing at Lucas and Dustin who would argue about random things for no apparent reason.

"hey max do you think will is OK" el asked placing a hand on her shoulder.

This question made Dustin and Lucas quiet as they all walked slightly closer to each other.

"I don't know, Troy definitely upset him though he was quite sad about it".

"Maybe he is gay and it offended him" Mike added unsure. Lucas hummed in response as Dustin began "he's pretty quiet to be honest, he only speaks when spoken to".

Max hummed in response as she thought about the brunette "he's a nice kid" she muttered walking with the group feeling the rough material of her skateboard she was holding.

"let's get ice-cream" Dustin chimed smiling.

The group walked, talking about what they were expecting from this year and who was gonna get detention first, and planning sleepovers and outings.

"hey guys isn't that will" Mike blurted suddenly pointing at two figures entering scoops. "he said he was busy" Lucas grumbled slight annoyance lacing his tone.

Mike felt confused

Will seemed very quiet and timid
Did he not want to hand out with us
Maybe it's because of what Troy said

"maybe he was upset" he objected as Lucas rolled his eyes. "No. He DOSENT wanna hang out with us" the boy retorted making Mike frown.

"hey, he's not comfortable with us yet he only met us it's not his fault and he's pretty shy" Mike defended staring at Lucas who just shrugged as they approached the shop.

Mike watched as will smiled at the cashier, Steve, and ordered a bubblegum flavoured ice-cream.
Talking to an older boy who he presumed was wills brother since they looked slightly similar and shared the same haircut.

Max and El walked up to will, tapping him on the back to get his attention.
When he turned his smile faltered, for a second Mike saw a look of guilt pass over his eyes as he spoke to Max and El.

As the two girls came back to the group Mike piped up "what did he say?". El looked him and began to speak "his brother and himself decided to grab some ice-cream on their way home". "he apologised for not hanging out, said he'd come some other time" max added staring at her board.

Mike felt slightly sad, he had wanted to get to know the boy and talk to him since he liked d&d they would be able to relate and talk about it and maybe will and himself shared other interests but he would have to wait.

"let's go" Dustin grumbled as they went inside just as will and his 'brother' left the shop, Will smiling at the group as the two left.

"hey will" two voices interrupted his conversation with his brother.
Wills stomach dropped as he turned to be faced with El and max.

"h-hey" will stuttered smiling like a fool. "so......" Max began with a small smile. "what brings you here?" max smiled trying not to sound like she was interrogating the boy.

Will looked nervous as he smiled in response "me and my brother just decided to grab ice-cream on the way home" he answered gesturing to Jonathan who smiled to the two who smiled back in response.

"well, next time then"? Jane questioned looking hopeful. "yeah" will chuckled" next time".

The two girls left to goin the party which will had only noticed now. Mike had been staring at will as max and el came back, will who began to feel awkward looked away and stared to lick his ice-cream which was staring to melt.

"let's go" he beamed to Jonathan who smiled as they began to walk away.

I know this chapter is really shit but I kind of wanted a filler chapter in a sense
