Hello readers! Welcome to the long awaited sequel to my original fan fiction Bitter-Sweet, please read that before this one or it may not make sense. Like that one, this has the same triggers which are self harm, suicide and depression subjects; anxiety and panic attacks; abuse, ptsd and learning disabilities with storylines on treatment as well as some bullying...also there's some amazing new characters who I can't wait for you to meet!
Bafé means bakery+café btw. Are you ready to see where the characters are ten years later? Leggo!TJ POV:
'Can I have a red velvet with coconut confetti please?'
'Sure, coming up,' I typed the order into the cash register and opened the door to the kitchen, 'Carter! Can we have a red coconut please?' I came back to finish the calculations (thank god for the machine because I wouldn't be able to do it) and smiled at the customer, 'That'll be £2.00 please,'
The woman handed me the coins, luckily needing no change before going to sit down. Carter came out with the cupcake sat on the plate and delivered it to her.
He then retreated back to me murmuring, 'She didn't say thank you,'
I rolled my eyes, 'Rude, we provide good service as well,'
'Yup,' he nodded, 'Would've thought she'd at least crack a smile,'
Just then the bell on the door chimed as someone came in. My head unintentionally shot up in excitement but it wasn't who I wanted it to be, 'Speaking of crack...'
Reed entered looking very out of place in this haven from his scruffy stubble to his motorbike jacket and also maybe the occasional stumble in his step from whatever he'd been taking. His dirty blonde, messy helmet hair was sprawled all across his face and his blue eyes were tired yet almost too energised. He'd clearly just got back from work, he always stops by to pick up Carter to take him back to their apartment.
When he took a seat at a stool, the other customers glaring at his presence, I immediately started making a coffee to try and cleanse his system.
Carter went round to sit beside, 'How was work?'
Reed grinned, 'Guess who won aaaaagainnn?!'
I rolled my eyes fondly, 'You did?'
He slammed his hands on the counter, 'I did indeed!!! Shoved it right in Less's face this time too, he got so piiiiiissed,'
'What you going to spend it on?' I asked rhetorically, already knowing the answer.
Reed's smile widened and he pulled out a packet of cigarettes, handing them to Carter, 'I got some...extra special jazz too but I did put some away for rent this time,'
He works at the betting stations for "anything that can speed" (as you may remember) so that's horses, cars, bikes etc. Lester obviously works with him as well, god bless their boss.
Carter kissed his boyfriend's cheek, 'Reed! These are my favourite ones!'
'I know,'
'But they're so expensive!'
'Trust me, I know,'
He kissed Reed's cheek, 'Thanks babe...I'll have to thank you tonight,' he winked.
Giving Reed the coffee (for free) I held my hands up in surrender, 'Save it for later boys,'
They chuckled, Reed giving Carter his motorbike jacket after he'd hung up his apron, 'See you Monday for my next shift TJ, Bye!'
Reed joined in, 'Bye Kip!'
I waved them out before I glanced at the clock. I was trying to calculate how many minutes it would be till he got here but was distracted by a customer who started yelling at me.
