It was the morning after our first kill. I checked the time on my phone, it was 9am. Finn was still asleep in his bed. He seemed dead asleep so I didn't want to wake him up. I decided to go get some breakfast so if Finn woke up late we would have something. I had a hoodie and some sweatpants. I went downstairs to see if there was anything. I got some toast and pancakes. I went back to the room. I wasn't so hungry yet so I decided to go to the balcony. The day was sunny. We had planes that we would go around San Francisco to know what we're going to do. I checked my phone for any messages. There was nothing. I went back inside to get my journal.
I got my journal to write about the woman I killed last night. I sat down at the desk. I started to plan out how I was going to kill Finn. I tried not to feel pity for most my jobs but this was different. I didn't want to get attached to Finn but it was too late. I didn't have many friends before so this was nice. He treated me like anyone else even though I killed people. He's too innocent for this job.
But I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to survive. I knew what I had to do to finish this job in the end.
The person we were gonna kill today was an elderly woman. She in a hospital right now so I'm planning on just pulling the plug. Finn can be there too and we can just finish the job my suffocating her. It won't be messy if we don't want to get caught. I turn around to see Finn waking up.
"Hey, are you awake sleeping beauty?" I teased.
"Hey Valerie what time is it?"he said as he rubbed his eyes.
"It's 9:30. Do you want some pancakes?"
"Yeah sure."he said as he got up from his bed.
"How was your sleep?" He asked.
"It was good, and yours?"
"It was good, still a little shocked. Don't we have to kill some old lady today?"he said as he munched on his pancakes.
"Yeah we have to go to the hospital around 12 so we have time then we can go look at the sites to make a plan."
"Ok." he said as he stared off into space.
"Hey earth to Finn! Are you ok? What's wrong?"
"Oh sorry about that. Yeah nothings wrong just it's hard to believe that we killed that lady."
"Oh well you get used to it eventually. Also you didn't kill her I did i have the blood on my hands. You just helped."
"Yeah you're right. I don't understand how you can do this as a job."
"It's not that bad. I'm doing this for the money I don't kill people for fun."
"Yeah I thought so. You don't seem like the type of person that would be in this profession."
"I can say the same thing hahah." I replied.
"I'm going to start getting ready to go to the hospital so I'm going to shower."
"Ok I'll be here."
I got my clothes to go shower. It was nice to feel fresh after I showered. I put on some jeans and a comfy sweater.
I got out of the shower with my wet hair. Finn was going to shower next so I had time to myself.
"The shower is free now." I said to Finn.
"Ok."
I just got ready and hid my katanas so when the cleaning ladies they don't see them. I had to do a few more things to be ready to go to the hospital. The time is currently 11am so we should be leaving in a little bit.
Finn got ready so we finally left. We said we were the elderly lady's grandchildren. We got in and it wasn't so bad. Finn and I talked as we walking to the room.
"Are you nervous?" I asked Finn.
"Yeah a little bit but not as much as last time." As I saw his hand shiver. I knew he was scared so I grabbed his hand so it would calm him down.
"It's going to be fine Finn. Did you bring the tapes and your computer for the cameras?"
"Yes and thank you Valerie."he said as he held my hand tighter. He wasn't half asleep so he wasn't just being clingy.
We went inside the the room to find and elderly woman asleep. Before we got to work we covered the cameras with tape. I went to unplug the cord. She couldn't breath. It's what I wanted for it to be the least messy. Finn stared at the woman in fear.
"Finn did you hack the cameras and erase the footage?" I asked as I stared at the woman suffocated.
"Yes." He said as he looked at the woman in fear.
It appeared that the woman stopped breathing and flat lined. She was eventually dead. Finn was pale in fear.
"Hey Finn are you ok?"
"Y-yeah I'm fine just shocking."
"Are you done with the hacking?" I asked
"Yes"
"Ok well let's leave we have to go make a plan for tomorrow." I said as I held Finn's shivering hand. We left the hospital unnoticed. We started to head to the hotel. For the rest of the day we planned for the rest of the week. It was a nice day with Finn.
Time skip to next day
I was showering for us to go to a club where the next victim is. Thankfully I brought a maroon dress that would be nice to wear. I got out of the shower to get into my dress. It as a bit tight and short but I had to work with what I have. I decided to dress more appropriate with a bit of makeup. I decided to blow dry my hair then straighten it. I was finally ready so I went out to start getting my stuff.
I walk out of the bathroom and see Finn buttoning up his shirt. He sees me and I see him turn I light shade of pink. "Wow" I hear him whisper. It made me blush.
"Umm you look really nice." He said while he scratched the back of his neck like he always doesn't when he's nervous around me.
"Oh umm thanks. You look nice too."
"Thanks."
We stared at each other in silence for a few seconds. I finally broke the silence and said
"Umm so are you ready?"
"Y-yeah" he said as he grabbed his phone and the keys to the car.
We went downstairs to the car. I had my katanas in the car ready to do the job. It was around 10:30pm. We got to the club and sat down at the bar. The target was a woman in her twenties. She was probably going to be sober. Which just made my job harder. I just had to lure her to the back of the club to do the job. We got there before the victim so it would be easier for us to find her.
"How are you feeling about this Finn?" I asked.
"Umm well less nervous than last time definitely. To fit in don't you think we should go dance?"
"Yeah good idea." I said as we got up to the dance floor. I grabbed Finns hand for reassurance. We were both blushing. In the time that I was with Finn I was having fun. As we became closer and closer. As the crowd became bigger and bigger the more I could feel Finn. Finn was grabbing me by the waist and I was clinging from his neck. Our faces inches apart. I could feel his warm breath on my face. Our lips almost touching until I remembered what we were doing there. I pulled away from his arms as I looked at the door seeing our victim at the entrance.
"Finn, the victim is here." I stated as I couldn't bare looking at him right now.
"Oh yeah right I almost forgot. Sorry about that."
"It's ok I'm going to go talk to her."
As I walked into the crowd I started thinking about what had just happened. I was confused. We are just friends I thought to myself. It won't happen again.
I walked over to the victim. I tried to act like I had something for her in the back. It wasn't the easiest thing I did but I was effective. We parked the SUV by where it would all happen so Finn could meet me there. She was wearing heels and I decided to give her a few drinks.
"Here have a bit of this." I told her.
"Thanks, but right now I don't feel so go-" she fell on the floor. This was my chance to get my katana out and finish the job. Right before I was about to finish her she said "So what is he to you?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Oh you know the guy with the ginger hair blue eyes him! You like him don't you?"
"He's just a friend." I said like a liar.
"Are you sure about th-" I stabbed her before she could finish.
I spoke into my earbud "Finn the job is done come help me with the body."
"Yeah I'm coming."
We got the body into the trunk of the SUV. We were planing on taking her to a dumpster nearby. We got into the car and it made everything awkward.
"Umm Valerie about what happened back there-"
"It's fine Finn. I promise you it won't happen again sorry we just got distracted." I knew though that I was lying, but I knew what I have to do to Finn in the end. We drove the rest of the way to the dumpster and the way back to the hotel in silence.
Did I really like Finn?! I didn't want to think that I did but that would be lying to myself. I didn't want to do what I had to do in the end to Finn. We got to the hotel and we were still in silence.
As we walked to the hotel room I decided to hold his hand. He looked at me and we both turned a light shade of pink. He made me happy and I didn't want this feeling to end. He treated me like an equal. I mean after all we both are monsters maybe we can be monsters together I thought as I grabbed onto his arm. We walked the way back to the room in silence but it wasn't uncomfortable. For the rest of the night we didn't talk much. I just changed and went to sleep. I drifted off to sleep in exhaustion.
Finn's POV
I couldn't sleep. I wasn't even shocked just that I wanted more with Valerie. She made me happy and I want to be more that just friends. Tonight she really surprised me with her dress. She looked stunning. When I was holding her we were so close. She understands me. She makes me feel safe and happy. Maybe she feels the same way.
