Ninjago One shots

~The Truth~

This is mysterious and you guys have to wait to find out which ship it is...

The Ice ninja and Earth ninja walked side by side down the sidewalk quickly heading to the Karaoke Club known as Laughy's. After Luke Cunningham, also known as The Man in the White Mask, unintentional spilled that the Sons of Garmadon hung out at Laughy's, Cole and Zane reported it to the others and then immediately started heading over. Laughy's was pretty far from the police station, but the two had made good time walking there.

"I also once ate a cricket because the neighbor kid, James, dared me too!" Cole laughed. Since the effects of the truth serum on Cole had not yet worn off, Zane had decided to put it to use. He kept asking Cole questions and seeing what were the funniest answers he could get from the raven-haired boy.

"Now what about bad dates?" Zane asked. Cole had mentioned a bad date one time, he hadn't gone into much detail, and Zane was kinda curious how many the boy had been on.

"Oh I've only ever had two dates, and both of them were horrible!" Cole laughed as he walked along happily. "The first one was when I was thirteen when a girl from the grade above asked me out. We went to get some ice cream, I ended up tripping and accidentally pushing her into a fountain! She was furious with me!"

"That sounds quite funny," Zane commented as he watched Cole try to control his laughter. "What about the other one, you said that there were two?"

"The second one happened only a few months before Master Wu found me..." Cole trailed off a little when he mentioned Master Wu. Not knowing where their master was or if he was okay had really taken a toll on all the Ninja. Cole then brought another smile to his face before continuing, "So a girl, who had previously moved into the neighborhood, had asked me out, so I said yes. I thought that it would be nice to get to know her. We had just finished dinner and we were leaving the restaurant when she fell and ripped the back of her skirt. Then, even though that was bad enough, when we were trying to get her home quickly a car almost hit us when we were crossing the street. The driver popped out and it was her ex-boyfriend! He had come all the way just to see her and get her back!"

"I'm guessing she went home with him," the blue-eyed nindroid said calmly. Cole nodded as they kept walking nearing the Karaoke Club as they went.

"Yeah, but it's fine. None of them would have worked out anyways" Cole smiled as he kept a good pace with Zane. The titanium nindroid looked at the boy beside him curiously. He was wondering why those relationships wouldn't have worked out and tried to come up with logical answers. Finally, he just decided to ask knowing full well that Cole would have to answer it and could not lie about the answer.

"Why's that?" Zane asked raising an eyebrow curiously. Cole was caught off guard by the question as he stopped abruptly. Zane stopped too and looked at Cole as he tried to fight back an answer. Cole knew that he had to answer the question, but when he did the truth would be out there. Could he really trust Zane with his secret, because eventually, someone would find out.

"It's because I'm gay!" Cole stated pretty flat. His olive-green eyes watched Zane sharply waiting for the other ninja to reply.

"Okay that makes sense," Zane shrugged and continued walking. The Earth ninja was surprised by his friend's reaction as he suddenly ran to catch up with Zane. They were now walking side by side again, everything silent for a few moments until Cole broke it with a question that burned threw his mind.

"So you're cool with the fact that I'm gay?" Cole asked quickly. Zane looked at him with a small smile, "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"

Cole let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. He smiled back at the master of ice before turning and facing in front of him. They were getting closer to Laughy's, only about another block or two.

"It's just most people aren't very supportive about that kind of thing..." Cole mumbled rubbing his arm. The two quickly turned a corner and continued walking down the sidewalk.

"Well, I don't see anything wrong with it. But if I may, can I ask you a question?" Zane looked over at Cole. Cole gave a slight nod indicating that Zane had his permission. "How did you find out you were gay?"

"Well I've never really had any crushes or feelings stronger than friendship for a girl, and I do have a crush on a boy..." Cole realized that he had mentioned his crush and he stopped himself by covering his mouth. Zane's curiosity levels were now turned to the highest setting as the Ice ninja was now curious about this guy that Cole was crushing on. Zane knew that Cole didn't know a whole lot of people, not trying to be mean, and it sounded like he couldn't have had this crush for more than a few years and like it was still going on. This meant that it was most likely someone that Zane knew.

"Really? Who might this person be?" Cole had been hoping that Zane wouldn't ask that question. He wasn't entirely comfortable with spilling the fact of who he was crushing on, it was personal and private. The master of earth was a little mad at his friend, but couldn't really blame the nindroid for asking. He knew that he honestly would have probably asked the exact same question if he was in Zane's shoes.

"It's Jay!" Cole blurted out. He cursed the fact that he couldn't lie or cover it up knowing full well that Zane now knew his secret. There was no turning back now, and no take-backs. The secret he'd kept to himself for years, trying to get over the fact that he had been crushing on his best friend.

"That's great! I'm sure Jay would be happy to hear that, especially since-"

"NO! You can't tell Jay!"

"Why not?"

"Because he likes Nya! He probably isn't even into guys!"

"But-"

"No! Zane, you can't tell him or anyone else for that matter!"

Zane nodded slowly and remained silent for the rest of the trip. He didn't understand why he had to keep this a secret from Jay. Zane's mind was spinning as his gears turned, trying to process all his thoughts. He couldn't figure out why he had to keep it a secret that Cole likes Jay...

.....Especially since Jay had told Zane that he had a crush on Cole.....

Hello my Freaky Fans!! I hope you all are doing well and staying healthy! This was just a little idea that popped into my head when I was rewatching the seasons, for like the millionth time, and I came to season 8. I'm surprised that I could even write this when I have writers block. I guess when inspiration strikes, even writers block can't stop my creativity!!! It's like when I was writing this I was going crazy, but then when I went to write something else I couldn't even make a single sentence!!!! I don't understand, but I guess that's just the way it is. I just seriously hate writers block. Anyways my writers block is slowly going away and hopefully it'll be gone by the end of the week so I can get back to my requests for this book and my Au's I'm working on. Well, I hope you enjoyed this one short and I will hopefully have something else published by the end of the week!! I love you and stay safe!!!! ❤️
