Chapter 2

Summers P.O.V:

Jake had given me a white v neck t shirt and a pair of boxers to change into... He wouldn't let me sleep at home, because he feared what would happen to me as the night progressed and my father began to get so drunk that he probably not even remember my name. I was wrapped tightly in Jake's arms, engulfed in the warmth of his body and the smell of his hollister collogne, forgetting about the pain, just living like nothing was wrong, like all my scars just disappeared, he made me feel like I was an actual human being. We watched movies, talked about anything and everything until finally I fell asleep.

Jakes P.O.V

Summer was in my arms where she was safe, and where she belonged. We woke up the next morning still wrapped in each others arms. "good morning beautiful" I said as I kissed her forehead causing her to smile. We stayed in bed all morning (since it was summer break), but then she got a worried look on her face... "what's gonna happen when I go back home." she questioned as she looked up at me with her beautiful green eyes. "I... I don't know, you could stay here with me and tell your dad that you ran away to god knows where ." I said trying to make it seem like it was her only option. But it was no use, she knew that she would have to go home. So at three I walked her home and prayed that she would be okay.

Summer's P.O.V

As I approached my house I knew I couldn't go through the front door, so I climbed up my fire ladder as usual. I climbed through my bedroom window cautiously, checking to see if my father was in my room. He wasn't, I've never felt so relieved in my life. The rest of the day was peaceful, no kicking, hitting, and no almost lifeless body on the ground. It was 9:30 and I was watching tv as usual, everything was fine until my door slammed open. I saw my father standing there more enraged than I have ever seen him, he stomped in glaring at me "WHERE WERE YOU" he screamed. I was so done with him, I had to do something "SOMEWHERE WHERE PEOPLE ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT ME, SOMEWHERE WHERE THEY HAVE THE DECENCY NOT TO TRY AND KILL ME LIKE YOU" I screamed back as I started to cry. Just like any other time, he pushed me onto the ground and proceeded to kick me and continue to make me feel like I was worthless, and unwanted. He was finally satisfied with how hurt I was, and left. I didn't realize it but now there were bruises on my arms... and they were noticeable. I needed to get out of here and fast.

Jake's P.O.V

I felt my phone vibrate against my leg, I knew it had to be Summer so I picked it up without hesitation. It sounded like she was trying to say something but, she was crying too hard for me to understand. All I knew was that I had to get her out of that house and have her stay with me as long as I can make her... She never cries so I knew it had to be pretty bad, worse than usual. I ran out my front door not even bothering to tell my parents where i was going until finally I reached her house. When I got into her room I saw her lifeless body lay there on the ground. "it's okay Summer, I am going to grab some clothes for you and you can stay at my house until we figure all of this out." I grabbed a big pink overnight bag and proceeded in putting clothes, cosmetics, and her phone into it. After I was content with the items in the bag I carefully picked up her frail body. "my father said he was leaving to go get drunk somewhere were I wasn't so, youcan go out the front door." she croaked out. I carefully walked (what seemed to be like) four endless blocks until at last we reached my house. I laid her down under my covers and got under them with her. She moved as close as possible to me as i hugged her body "don't worry i won't let you go" i told her. That didn't seem to help because she buried her head into my chest as she started to weep and cry until she finally fell asleep.

Sorry I haven't gotten to write in a while.....
