stan drove me home from detention. it was almost silent. the only sound playing was the faint music on the radio.
i couldn't stop thinking about that word. girlfriend. why would he say that, was it to protect me for brad or something? i had to ask him about it. i'd go crazy if i didn't.
"stan, why'd you call me your girlfriend to brad."
he glanced over at me shortly and then back at the road. "well in case you haven't noticed, i've been trying to ask you out all day."
i was confused, but then it hit me. all the times he tried to talk to me today flooded back in my brain.
"s-speaking of impatient. i was wondering if you wanted to-."
"speaking of hearing things. i was wondering if you would like to-."
oh my god, he really has been trying to all day. no wonder he would look so frustrated whenever he'd get interrupted.
we arrived my house shortly. i looked over at stan and saw him awkwardly smile over at me. holding the wheel firmly.
"so...do you want to? i-i mean i would completely understand if you don't feel the same way and you wanna just be friends cause i'm like really weird so-."
my lips smashed on his.
i pulled away and smiled at him. "does that answer your question?"
he smirked. "i don't know, maybe you should do it again."
my eyes rolled and i giggled as i unbuckled my seatbelt and got out of the car. yelling a quick goodbye to him.
stanley gasped and got out of the car. "w-wait, does that mean we can go to homecoming together?"
i stopped at the door and chuckled to myself. turning over to look at him and say, "i'll let you figure that out for yourself." and walked in and closed the door behind me.
stanley's breath slowed down until it got to a normal speed. he found himself smiling to himself as he got back into the car.
"i finally got her."

"he asked you out?"
"yes!"
it was now the next day after school and dina and i both screamed out of excitement. whenever i needed someone to talk about boy stuff with that was about boning i would go to dina.
she clapped her hands together and gasped. "oh my god, that means you guys are going to homecoming together, right?"
my head nodded as she awed. "that is so cute!" she turned around and started to go through her closet. all i could feel was sadness for her. she just got out of a relationship with. a relationship that really made her happy for the most part.
"i'm sorry about you and brad."
dina took out a dress and held it up to her body and looked in the mirror. "it's fine, he was kind of a dick anyway. so many guys have been asking me to go since we've been broken up. it's sweet but i think i might just go with syd," she hung the dress back down and sat next to me. "but enough about him, tell me more about you and stanley. when did you start liking him."
i sat up straight and grinned at her.
"it all started after he took me home from the party..."
