A young woman wakes from her bed, thinking that this day won't be different. It's never different. She's used to her schedule. Her normal schedule applied to this day. She woke up, got into her working clothes, ate something small, and left her house to get to her job. The hospital had called her in saying it was an emergency, but she knows it never is. It's nothing she can't handle. But this day decided to be different. She got her normal call saying what she was doing and what patients were in. She got another call from a number she didn't know. She assumed it was one of her patients or coworkers so she answered. "Is this Angela Ziegler?" A deep voice spoke through the phone. "Who are you? Why do you know my name?" She was kind of scared. The fact that someone who didn't introduce themself knew her name. It scared her. "Sorry, that was rude. I am Commander Jack Morrison. I see your progress on your nanotechnology to heal people. We want you at Overwatch. We know it's a surprise but we need a medic of your experience." The commander explained. "If you want to join us in Overwatch, I can send someone to your location." "Okay. Wait, how do you know where I am? Are you tracking me? What is happening?" Angela was still confused and scared. How did he know where she was and what is Overwatch? "Just don't answer that. I'll want more information from you. I assume you're allowed to tell me what this 'Overwatch' thing is." She just needed information. She had no idea what was happening. "Overwatch protects the world from any evil to walk the Earth. We are fighting to keep the world safe from anyone who decides to pose a threat." Angela listened and thought about her parents. Those omnics that took them from not long before. She thought for a second as the commander went on. She interrupted him saying, "if I don't like this group, could I quit?" She needed a clear answer. "Of course. We want everyone to feel safe with us. If you want to leave, we will respect your wishes." He finished his statement before Angela blurted out "okay I'll do it. I just need to talk to the people at my job about this. They are the ones who decide for me with this. I guess you'll know if it's a definite yes then?" She heard the man sigh and just say yes. She thought she was annoying him and felt the need to apologize but she remembered someone telling her to stop apologizing for everything she does. She doesn't know this man at all and he could be busy. She went with that feeling that he was busy. "We hope to see you here, Angela. We need you on our team." The man said before hanging up his phone. The conversation felt rushed to her. She continued on with her day, thinking about what the call was. Is Overwatch worth it? It seems to be that way.
The shift Angela took everyday seemed longer. Her mind wasn't completely in this today and she just couldn't help but wonder what Overwatch wanted with her. She was able to do some research on the organization she was wanted at and got some information. It didn't say anything about any of the agents but that didn't bother her too much. If someone were to know everything about each agent, that could be the worst trouble for them. She told her coworkers and boss about this new job and they all let her go. They said if she wanted that job back, she could have it as long as she's not busy with anything. She thanked everyone and was sent on her way. She didn't get a chance to get home before a car pulled up beside her as she was ready to drive home. The windows were tinted and she couldn't see anything in it, not even a silhouette of a driver. The driver rolled down the window just enough to let her hear him. "Are you Angela Ziegler? Jack Morrison sent me to get you." She nodded at the question. What was with this Jack guy? Why was he so obsessed with her work and possibly her? She had questions but didn't want to ask the driver. She only said a few words "I'll be grabbing my stuff then." She had her nanotech on her at all times just in case there was a time when it was needed to be tested. She also liked having it to work on during her breaks. She only had to grab a few things from her home. She started her car and motioned the way to go as the other driver followed her. It took a few minutes to get where they needed to be but it didn't take long for Ziegler to grab everything she thought she would need. She didn't know when she would go back to that home but she was fine with it. "I'm all set. We should probably get going before it gets too late out." She requested as she entered mystery person's car. Their drive was to a military flight range. There was a plane waiting for them. They got onto the plane and got to Overwatch headquarters before the sun dared to peak over the land.
