It had been a month since Jack had got his injury. Angela still hasn't seen Gabriel too much or long enough to talk to him. There was occasional bumps and smiled exchanged between them. She still wanted to question him but never had the time. She was focused on the man she kept alive. She had been helping Jack recover. They had grown closer in this time he had to recover. They didn't know who to completely thank but Angela silently thanked Gabriel. Jack didn't thank anyone. He didn't know who to thank. He was just glad he got more time with her. "Angel, am I ready to get out there again? It's strange giving orders but not being there." She chuckled. "One more treatment and you should be fine to be back out there." She lifted the shirt he had on and ran her hand over it. "Does that hurt?" He shook his head. "Good. One more healing and you should be good to go back out into the field. Just don't hurt yourself anymore." She was being sarcastic. "Yeah, yeah, I know doc. Thanks for being there when I needed you." She put her staff up to where he had a broken rib and turned it on. This is the last time she could do this. Probably the last time to see him for a while. She finished her healing and looked him in the eyes. "Be careful out there, okay?" She sounded worried. He wasn't going on any missions but it was still concerning her that he would be alone. They both were finally able to sleep. He hugged her and grabbed her shoulders. She looked at him again, pink dusting over her cheeks. He put one hand on her chin and carefully pushed up. He placed his lips on hers. She allowed him to explore her body as he wished. He knew limits and boundaries, which made her more comfortable with this situation. "Thank you, Jack. Maybe another day you could see more." She didn't mean to say that. She covered her mouth quickly and realized her mistake. He didn't mind what she said. If anything, he enjoyed it. "Don't be embarrassed. It's alright. We all make mistakes like that. Sometimes we don't mean our words and sometimes we do. I'll be holding that to you. You'll tell me if it's true or not." He grinned and let her go. Her face was still pink, darkening with his words. "Got it. Just don't say anything when anyone is around. They don't know about us. Gabriel might but nobody else knows." She wasn't going to beg him to not tell but she was going to ask over and over again. Who knows how the team would react with a 20 and 28 year old together. Especially if one is a medic and the other is the commander of the team. She was wondering how he looked like how he did at his age. Normal people don't have bodies like that at his age. He's too young to be like that. "Did you have tests done on you before?" She asked him. "There was no trace of any drug in your system and it's not natural to have that much muscle at your age. What happened?" He shrugged. He was never supposed to tell about the test. Nobody was allowed to know. His boss had given an intractable drug. They knew this exact situation would happen eventually. "You can tell me, can't you?" She was worried. She could see the pain in his eyes. He was holding all urges to tell her back. "Maybe later. For now, I have to get back to work and so do you. I'll check in with you later." He didn't want to tell her and risk putting her in danger. His souls stayed bright, which was rare for everyone. Something was up but she just let him leave. "Hey commander, what if I see you later. Enough of my room. I need a change of scenery from that. Don't come to my room. I'll get to you. It gets boring in the same place every day. If you don't like that idea, tell me. I don't know. I can't read your mind. Plus it's easier to play off if someone sees. 'I'm just checking on you after your fight.' Or something like that could be used. I'm a doctor and going to a patient is normal." She was trying to make it make sense. Jack just smiled. "My room it is then. Don't be late. Just be there at 0900 sharp." "Yes sir." She let him walk out and cleaned up the medical room a bit. There was too much going on in there.
