Sonya holds my hand as we're waiting for my dad to come over. "You nervous?" She asks. I nod slowly "y-yeah, what should I say if he asks who you are?" I ask looking at her. She smiles "a friend" she answers. I nod taking a deep breath as theres a knock on my apartment door. I look back at her once I stand "c-can you make another pot of coffee?" I ask. She nods standing up "yeah of course" she whispers kissing my cheek.

I nervously walk over to the door and open it, my sister standing on the other side with a tray of coffees from Starbucks. "Dad said he was coming over today thought I'd drop by too" she walks past me placing the coffees on my kitchen island. I look between her and sonya and she's looking at sonya holding the coffee pot. "Um hey I'm jo, violets older sister and you are?" She introduces herself. "Oh I'm sonya, one of violets co-workers and friends" she answers.

Jo looks between us and nods "cool" she answers grabbing her coffee and ploping down on my couch. "So whys dad coming over?" She asks. I close the door and grab a coffee from the tray and I sit next to jo. "I wanted to talk to him about something" i answer. She nods slowly "what about? Are you pregnant? Are you suddenly gay?" She guesses. Sonya sits on the other side of me "um no I'm not pregnant, and no I'm not completely gay" I answer. Her eyes widen and look between us "not completely? Are you bi?" She asks. I nod slowly "y-yes, I told mom yesterday" I answer. She nods understanding "are you two dating?" She asks looking between us.

I shake my head "no, not yet" I answer. Sonya nods and slithers her arm around my waist. She nods "awesome! How did mom react? Was sonya here for it?" She asks. I laugh and nod "yeah she was here for it, she asked if I told you, andrew or dad yet" i answer. She nods "yeah sounds about right" she shakes her head. After talking for a few minutes theres a knock on the door. I get up nervously and open the door. My dad is standing there looking a bit older than he looked before. "Hey buttercup" he side hugs me walking in. I let out a light sigh and close the door behind him. He looks at the couch and sees jo and sonya, "ah jo hello sweetie" he smile. She nods and scoots over so he can sit beside me.

He looks over at sonya "hello, are you violets roommate?" He asks. She shakes her head "no uh I'm one of her friends and coworkers" she answers shaking his hand. He nods "well its nice to meet you" he nods politely. She nods and smiles nicely "you too" she whispers. I sit between them and think for a few seconds before thinking of what to say. I grew up with him being in the army so I'm not even sure how he's going to react. They never really voiced their opinions on the lgbtq+ community so who knows what he's going to say. "So what did you want to talk to me about?" He asks. I fiddle with my hands before answering, "before anything in the media gets out about me or before mom somehow tells you I wanted to let you know that I am bisexual" I let out.

"So you're into females and males?" He asks. I nod slowly as he starts asking for more questions, "so how did you figure it out?" He asks looking directly at me. Before I even say anything sonya speaks up, "I kissed her" she answers. He looks at her with his eyes widened and his eyebrows furrowed. "Really?" Jo asks looking between us. I nod embarrassed "uh yeah she did, in the locker room after one of my matches" I answer. Sonya nods and my dad continues to look dumbfounded. "So y-youre bisexual too?" He asks. Sonya shakes her head "no I'm a lesbian" she answers.

My dad nods looking confused "so you're dating now or what?" He asks. I shake my head "no, not yet" I answer. "Not yet? Why not vi?" He asks. I laugh quietly "um well I'm just figuring this all out and I'm not fully out to anyone at work" I answer. He nods understandingly "well from what I can tell you are very happy so I'm happy for you" he replies. I smile and side hug him, we talk for a bit longer before he leaves. Jo starts asking more questions, some more embarrassing than others. "So have you two yknow had sex yet?" She asks wiggling her eyebrows.  I shake my head "nooooo" I answer. Sonya smirks to herself "no we haven't, we're taking it slow" sonya answers.
