So there he was, local lunatic Dr. Nefarious, hunched over the control panel of Drek's ingenious creation-- destroyer of worlds-- the Deplanetizer. After his swift disposal of the Chairmen and the successful hijacking of the device, Nefarious had officially taken over. Now, it was his turn for nasty villain shenanigans.

He cackled to himself, practically shaking with anticipation as he hovered over the controls. The sheer amount of power in his hands! The endless possibilities of destruction! And the death! His cackling gradually grew into maniacal laughter, further solidifying his status as a mad scientist. His fingers just barely brushed over the buttons...

"Wait! Nefarious!" A voice suddenly cried out, snapping him out of the sadistic trance. How familiar, that tone-- and then he whipped around only to realize who it was. He went rigid. Oh. A Galactic Ranger, of all people... Elaris... Something in him sparked, and an ancient feeling reignited. He recalled it from his Ranger days... he quickly shook it off.

Ugh. Only if it had been Qwark, he could cut right to the chase and blast that moron to smithereens. He supposed he'd have his vengeance on all the Rangers regardless when their miserable galaxy blew up anyways. The thought made him even more impatient-- he wanted to cause problems already!

"Elaris," Nefarious hissed in response, giving her his most dramatic entrance. He thought about summoning the RYNO into his grasp but decided he'd wait. Elaris posed no threat to him... yet. "I'm surprised the Rangers let you leave that little broom closet they call a laboratory! Ah, and to think I made such revolutionary weaponry in that dump..."

"Nefarious, listen to me-- you can't destroy Umbris," she was a good few feet from him, standing her ground, brave as any other Ranger. There was a sadness to her face as she spoke to him. "You know the amount of devastation it would cause! The lives it would take! You're erasing an entire galaxy--"

"Hah! You speak as if I hadn't already thought this through! You really should know me better by now...I wouldn't forget to factor in such significant details!" And Nefarious chuckled maniacally to himself some more.

"I do know you! And I know you're making a BIG mistake. No-- a ginormous mistake! I don't believe you're thinking this blow-up-the-galaxy-for-revenge plan of yours through entirely. Nefarious-- there are such bigger things at stake here-- this isn't just about the Rangers anymore!" The desperation in her tone was increasing.

"On the contrary! What better way to properly show the Rangers ALLLLLL of the pain they caused me over the years? The mistreatment I endured? Especially from Qwark! ACK! Maybe then all of the galaxy understand the full extent of my misery!"

Elaris paused and squinted at him, scanning him up and down briefly. Nefarious felt her pitiful gaze burning holes right through him. Why, she probably saw through him like a window! Perhaps he had said too much in his little supervillain-motive-speech...

"What? What are you looking at?!" Her silence was driving him crazy-- he HAD to yell or make some obnoxious noise of the sort. In the quiet he more prominently noticed the deep hum of the idle Deplanitizer. Perhaps he should have activated it already.

"No-- I just... that's really it? Qwark wasn't lying? The Rangers really ARE the reason you left and that you became..." Elaris trailed off, but Nefarious got the point. He scoffed and went quiet. Great. Now HE was causing that dreadful silence.

Nefarious narrowed his eyes to thin yellow slits. He seemed almost reluctant to speak, refusing eye contact and instead staring down the endless pit of the Deplanitizer. He let out an irritated sigh. "....I'd call them more of a breaking point, perhaps even a brutal awakening, if you will," his voice was suddenly a deadly kind of low, barely audible over the Deplanitizer's ambience and soaked in venom. "Things have always been that way. It took me years to arrive where I am now, trust me. The way I was treated there was nothing abnormal. People always..."
