Aelia's pov

Panic spread throughout my limbs, my mother's hand kept twisting the knob. I took a deep breath to steady myself. Act cool. Just act cool.

"What in the hell was that all about?" my mother questioned as I unlocked the door

"I- I was putting on some clothes"

"You said you were dressed" she gave a questioning stare

"Did I? Must be the hormones. I blame the cramps" I held my stomach, pretending it was aching. What? Don't judge me, It was the best I could come up with. I don't work well under pressure

"Oh sweetie, I'm sorry, but that's such perfect timing for my homemade period tea" say what now?

"What did you just say?" I questioned in disgust

"It's a homemade tea recipe I found online, it's supposed to help with cramps" ugh this is disgusting, I regret everything. Sadly I dug my hole and now I have to play along

"Sure, I'll be down in a bit" I smiled, my mom nodded and left to the kitchen, excited to try her recipe

I sighed and walked back to the closet. Poor Luna, she must be so cold. I flung the door opens to see-

Nothing, what the heck?

"Luna?" I called out loud enough for her to hear. There was no response

"Luna?" I called once again, still nothing

"Where in the hell is she?" I held my hand on my hips, my eyes trailed down to the carpet. Her clothes was missing, so that means-

I waked over to my window, I looked to the road to see Luna's car was missing. Maybe she jumped out the window... But that still didn't give her any time to get dressed.. Did she climb down the window naked?

A blush rose to my cheek as I thought about Luna's naked body hanging onto dear life as she attempted to climb down the roof. I can't believe she did that, how lucky am I to have her?

I ran a hand through my hair and grabbed my towel, walking towards the bathroom in the other room. I took a cold shower because I just had to. After that, I walked back into my room and threw on something comfortable before walking downstairs into the kitchen to join my mother

"Where's dad?" I questioned

"He took a shower at the motel and left to the office again" she sighed, I felt a slight ping of disappointment. I knew my father really cared about this election, but did he really care so much to not leave a call or a text? Maybe I was being dramatic, but it still hurts

"Hey, he'll be back soon okay" my mother assured when she noticed my mood shift. I nodded

"What's in that?" I questioned

"I can't give away all the secrets, but I can tell you that there's ginger" she smiled. Bleck, disgusting. Why did I call this upon myself, it wasn't even a good excuse!

"Soooo.. How was your date last night?" she questioned, a smile instantly formed on my lips as I recalled the night.

"It was perfect" I smiled

"Where'd you guys go?" my mother grinned

"We went to the Carnival. God you have no idea how bad I wanted to go there, I missed it so much" I squealed

"That's so sweet, I know much how much you really wanted to go back. Sadly they weren't around" my mother said

"I won every game we played, it felt like she was letting me win but I don't care! I got so many fluffy bearsss" I pouted
