"KAELYN!"
Kaelyn shot up as she was woken up by her brother's voice screaming in her ear. This was immediately met by pain when her forehead collided with his. Kaelyn looked to the ground and saw Dan rolling around and groaning.
"Drama queen," she said under my breath.
"You get that from your dad," thier mum said, smiling in the doorway. Their dad came up behind her with a gasp.
"I cannot believe this injustice! Kids, pack your things. We are leaving this abusive household."
Octavia chuckled at her husband's antics. "Ok, but do pack your things. You two have to leave for the train in 3 hours."
Kaelyn and Daniel were both groaning now as Kaelyn flopped back onto her back.
"You should be used to this; it's your fifth year doing this," her brother pointed out to her.
"Yeah, well, it's your seventh smart-arse."
"Touché."
==================
Kaelyn walked through the train, searching through all of the compartments for a specific person. Dan, who was walking beside her, turned to her.
"You'll be okay without me, right?"
"Get lost."
The siblings exchanged smiles and Dan lightly punched his sister in the shoulder before walking away. Kaelyn continued walking along, growing increasingly concerned. Suddenly, someone grabbed her arm and pulled her inside a compartment.
"Hey! You can't just-" she looked up and noticed who it was. "MADDIE!" Kaelyn jumped on her best friend with a hug. Laughs were heard all around the compartment at her actions.
Kaelyn climbed off of Maddie and helped her up. She sat inbetween two of her other friends who were also sitting there.
"I've missed you so much, Mads!" Kaelyn got looks from everyone else. "And you guys too, I guess," she smiled at the scoffs that came from the other girls' mouths.
"Don't listen to them, Kae. They're just jealous they don't have a love as great as ours."
Now everyone was smiling as Maddie put her arm around Kae and kissed her cheek. The latter of the two rolled her eyes and settled inbetween Jessica and Everest. She hadn't seen her friends for a whole summer and was excited to catch up with the girls she had known since first year.
"So, how was everyone's summer?" Jess asked.
"Terrible, as usual," the girl with frizzy, curly, black hair replied.
"Everest, ever the downer," Maddie joked.
"Can it, Jensen. You're just lucky I haven't killed you yet."
"Oh Evie, you love me."
"You wish," Everest scoffed, though the smile was evident in her eyes.
The girls laughed and caught up for a while until Kaelyn stood up.
"Well, I've got to go to the restroom, I'll be back."
She walked down the aisles of the train until she bumped into someone.
"Oh wow, I'm so sor-" Kaelyn stopped in the middle of her apologizing when she noticed who she bumped into. "Oh. Wood. It's you."
He smirked at the Ravenclaw chaser, "Care to finish your statement, McCaughley? I believe you were saying 'I'm so sorry I'm so much worse than you'"
