"Alright, I got all my things, now I just need to drive 3.5 hours to Philly for the week. Von said I could stay with him at his apartment." I check over my bags one more time, making sure I have everything I need. Chargers, laptop, school supplies, notebooks, clothes, toiletries. "I'm ready!!" Liz says, dropping her bags next to mine. We head out, not before stopping for coffee. The ride feels like a thousand years, finally we make it into the Philly area. I park in the lot next to his apartment building.
"Hey you two!!" Von says, answering the door. He picks Liz up, kissing her and spinning her around. "Not like you guys didn't just see each other a few weeks ago.." I laugh, carrying my bags inside. "Where should I put my things?" I ask, he points to the bedroom across the room. I walk in, a small spare room, definitely boys live here. He and Venti live together when Venti's in town. His family lives in Michigan so he goes there a lot. "Nick will be in Detroit until next week so you'll be good." Von says standing in the doorway. "Sounds good! I won't be here much, I have orientation all week. "Good because Saturday, we're going out on the town!" He shakes his hips and dances. "You're such a weirdo." I roll my eyes, he shuts the door and I start to unpack. Setting everything up for the first day tomorrow, I'm incredibly nervous but also excited.
Matt: Good luck on your first day! You'll be great!
Me: Hope so! Super excited!!
Matt: Can't wait to see you when you get home. (:
I don't answer. I haven't been into the mushy-gushy texts lately. I haven't talked to him about anything yet. About Collin. I imagine how the conversation will go. Being as Collin introduced himself over FaceTime. We were in the same hotel room, not sharing a bed but still. I can see Matt getting upset, angry, and he ends things. But would I be devastated? Do I feel that strongly for him that I would be horribly upset if he did? I don't know. I don't know anything anymore.

I'm walking around campus. I got here early to try and make sure I find where I'm going and to look around. It's beautiful here. The campus is beautiful, and I've always loved Philly. The air, the people, the scenery is just so perfect, much better than Boston. Maybe I could live here one day, work at the Philly Hospital. Everywhere has a labor and delivery unit, the only thing is do they hire midwives. I finally find the building I'm looking for and head inside. "Hi, can I get your name?" The girl at the desk asks. "Emily Marchesi, I'm here for orientation." I say. She nods, handing me a clipboard. "You can write notes on here, one of the senior students will walk you around campus and show you everything. We'll all meet back here at one. Break for lunch from noon to one." She smiles and I thank her. "Hi Emily?" I hear a voice behind me.
"Hi! Yes, that's me." He smiles and puts out his hand to shake. I do. "My name is Aidan. I'm a senior here so I've been tasked with showing you around." He smiles. "So, what made you choose this school?" He asks as we walk out of the building. It's warm outside still from the summer heat. "A midwife I work with suggested it. I also really love Philly, it's a nice place." He nods. "Well unfortunately I'm not in the same program but I can still show you around campus and bring you back to Hopkins Hall for the group orientation." He points out all the buildings, from the dorms to the cafeteria and dining hall. The science wing and where most of my classes will be when I come to campus. "Do you live on campus?" I ask, he shakes his head. "I live in the area with my dad. Grew up around here. My brother has an apartment with his friend when they're actually home, they travel a lot." He says. "Nice." He leads me into the dining hall to get lunch, he sits with me.
"Hey Aidan.." A girl comes up to us at a table, putting her hand on his shoulder. "Hey." He says, mouthful of his sandwich. She sits. "Who's your friend?" She tries to seem sincere, but her tone and face are menacing. "This is Emily, she's a new student in the midwife program. I'm showing her around being a senior, they asked me to." He dives back into his sandwich and chips. I smile at her but her smile isn't nice. "Well I'll see you tonight right?" She stands, he nods. She gives me a glare over his shoulder as she walks away. "Don't mind her, she's just into my brother. Has been for a while. Thinks that if she hangs out with me, she'll get to him." He stuffs a chip in his mouth and chews as he takes a big sip of his iced coffee. "Damn dude, chew and swallow." I laugh, he smiles. He's got a great smile, reminds me of Collin's perfect teeth. We finish our food and he walks me back to what I'm assuming is Hopkins Hall. "It was nice to meet you! Maybe I'll see you around?" He walks off.
