Dear Miss Marchesi,

We are happy you have chosen us as a potential living space. Unfortunately, we do not have any vacancies in the building. We can help in your search in the area. How many bedrooms will you need? Will there be any pets in the residence? And where would you like to search in the city? Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Best of luck, Ashlyn

Ashlyn,

There will be two people living in the apartment so at least two bedrooms would be ideal. Three is even better. There will be one quiet and cuddly cat with us. I am currently going to school at Thomas Jefferson and planning on working at Philadelphia Medical as I have a job offer there. I would like to be within a ten minute drive from there or able to take the bus/train/etc. If anything becomes available or if you know of some places, please let me know! Anything will work fine! Thanks!

Emily

After much discussion, soul searching and other things, Liz and I have decided to move to Philly. Neither of us are happy here. Boston hasn't been my home in a long time. Plus, Andrew and her have become really close so she'd happily move closer to him. Not that either of us are moving just for the boys in Grayscale, but the opportunities are better. For instance, when I finish with school, the midwife office I work for is maxed out on employees. Therefore I would have to find another office. And they are unfortunately scarce in this area. I was accepted for a position as an L&D nurse at Philadelphia Medical Center in the birth center unit, which is far better than a regular L&D unit. The birthing center has more holistic practices. Plus, the midwife group offered me a job once I graduate and take the certification exam. I need something new. New people, new air, new life. I haven't told Matt yet. We've been hanging out and going on dates. I told him about my illness, and he's been helping a lot. Sending me articles to read and recipes to make.

Me: Hey, wanna come over for dinner? I have some news.

Matt: Okay. Good or bad?

Me: Depends on how you look at it. I'll explain it all later.

Matt: See you at 6?

Me: Perfect

I grab one of my recipe books, looking at the ingredients so I can go to the store. I grab my bag and head to the store with Liz. Pushing the cart around and grabbing fresh ingredients. Onions, ground beef, garlic, tomatoes...

"So are you going to tell Matt tonight?" She asks. "Yeah, I'm not sure how he's going to react. I feel like he'll be upset but I'm not moving for anyone but myself. I'm not happy here. I have to do what's best for me, and my career." She nods. "I'm moving because a: I love you. and b: I can get sex whenever I want now." I laugh. "Hornball!!" I joke. We finish and pay for our items. It's 5:30 when we get back to the apartment. Some boxes sit in the corner, flat and not put together. I grab the cutting boards and knifes from the drawer. I start cutting up the onions, trying not to let the stinging make my eyes water. The intercom buzzes. "Come on up!" I say into it. In minutes, he knocks on the door.

"Hey you" He says when he walks in. "What's wrong?" He asks, seeing the watery eyes. "Onions" I say, he chuckles. "How can I help?" He asks. "Dice the tomatoes?" He stands next to me, washing his hands in the sink and cutting into one tomato. "What are we making?" He asks. "Taco soup! It's so good! One of the recipes you sent me! Liz loves it." We put everything into the pot after I browned the meat and everything. Stirring it and letting it sit. Matt pours a glass of wine and looks over at me. "I got it." I pull out a seltzer from the fridge. "No sugar." I hold it up. I've changed my mind on spiked seltzer, since I looked into low-sugar and low-carb alcohol, wine is out. Bon and Viv spiked seltzer has the lowest number of carbs and sugars, and I don't really drink them often. I pour it into a wine glass, makes me feel like I'm still drinking wine even if I can't.
