Alana had a perfectly normal birth but when she was 6 months old all she was doing was laying on her back. Therefore her mom, Andrea, took her to her pediatrician.
The pediatrician said, "I don't know what's wrong with Alana, but if you would like I can do some tests on her and find out?"
Andrea said, "If that's the only way."
The pediatrician did the tests on Alana that same day. After the results were back the pediatrician looked over them. Then he told Alana's mom he was not sure why she was not developing the way she should so he said, "I'm going to send you to a specialist because I think I might know one that can help."
A week later Alana was diagnosed with a form of Cerebral Palsy. She is now almost 6 years old and is in a regular school setting but she is in a wheelchair.
A week before her sixth birthday her mom asked her what she wanted for her birthday.
She said, "I want my dreams to come true . My dreams are that no one picks on anyone again and I dream to walk."
Her mom said, "I will see what I can do."
After the bus picked up Alana that morning her mom called around and found out that if she and Alana moved to a place where most of the disabled lived Alana's dreams would come true . So when she got home that night her mom told her that she was no longer going to be in the same school.
Alana said, "I don't understand."
Her mom told her they were moving.
"Why mom?"
"Because you will like it better where we are going."
"I think I understand. We are moving to that place my teacher told the class about today. It's called Elizabeth's World because a lady by the same name thought it up. She moved there too."
"We are going to go look at it after dinner. What do you want for dinner tonight?" Alana said, "I finally understand, my dreams are really coming true . Lets go out for pizza for dinner."
Then Alana's mom told her to get in the van. When they got to the pizza place Alana ordered the pizza. "I would like a large pepperoni."
When they were done eating they went to Elizabeth's World. When they got there Elizabeth herself greeted them. "Hello Alana. This must be your mom."
