Elizabeth then said, "Let me tell you about this place. First all the laws, you must be kind. Don't fight or do drugs. You have to go to school until you are 18 years old. You will be able to do anything you would like for example walk, run, jump, play sports, stuff like that, as long as you follow our laws and the laws for the rest of the world. The reason why you will be able to do anything physical is because the air is made just for this place. It's like water but with more oxygen. If there is anything else you would like to know later let me know."
"Now can I walk?" said Alana.
Elizabeth took her out of her chair and said, "Go ahead and try." Alana looked at her mom and said, "I can walk, it's like walking in water. I love it here, can we stay please?"
Her mom said, "Yes, I will go home and get our stuff."
Alana asked Elizabeth, "May I see our new house?"
Elizabeth answered, "Of course, follow me."
Alana got back in her chair to follow Elizabeth but found that with the special air she couldn't use her chair so she walked.
When Alana's mom got back with their stuff it was time for bed. The next day Alana and her mom went to get groceries in the new grocery store by their house. When they got home Alana told her mom, "I like it here all my dreams have come true . I get to go to school with kids who won't pick on me because I couldn't walk. Tomorrow I go to school for the first time walking."
The next day when Alana's alarm clock went off she popped out of bed and got dressed. Then she ate toast and eggs. After breakfast she walked to school and got introduced to her new teacher and class. They all loved her and they were all disabled but she couldn't tell. No one ever picked on Alana ever again. All the kids in her class were very nice to her they always came to her house and invited her to play.
On Alana's birthday she said to her mom, "I want my whole class to come over for a big party." Her mom told her she could do that because she wanted to meet Alana's classmates.
The next day at school Alana asked her teacher if she could tell the class about the party. Her teacher said she could before recess. Just before recess Alana told the class to come over to her house after school for her birthday party so after school all the kids followed her home for the party. When they got to her house each child introduced themselves to Alana's mom. Then they told Alana what they would have gotten her had they known she was HAVING a party. After that they each choose a game to play. They were all very tired by the time they played all the games so they went home. After they all left Alana told her mom she had a lot of fun at the party because everybody could do everything.
Year by year went by and because Alana lived where she did she wasn't restricted by what she could do because of her disability. Alana is now 21 and still lives in Elizabeth's World. Every time she sees her mom she tells her, "I am so happy I live here because it's my dream world too." Alana now has a little girl of her own and she would never imagine raising her little girl anywhere else but there.
