Levi's POV

There was shuffling in front of me, and turns out, Hanji was getting out of bed. Her cheeks were as pink as a coral when she looked down at me. "Ah... Levi..." She says, putting her hand on her rosy cheeks. "I-I didn't expect you to sleep with me tonight... I didn't want to bring it up, but... why did you do it?"

"Is it... not normal?"

"Eh?"

Hanji tilted her head a bit, confused. I sighed, looking down at my hands. "I guess... it's applies to us. When we're friends and we got to sleep, we typically curl up with whoever's nearby. Sorry if... I scared you. I didn't know..."

She leaned forward, hugging me with her arms wrapped around me. I hear her giggle softly... "Well... I understand. I-" Interrupted by some sort of noise. It was... annoying. "Crap..."

"What?"

Hanji covered me up with a blanket, running to the... living room. I tried to follow after her, peeking from the bedroom... door. I see her, opening up that bigger door. Her voice sounded... cheerful and... worried? She wanted to keep me hidden... could those guards have followed me and tracked Hanji down? Was she worried for me?

"Ah, M-Moblit."

"You... seem better than yesterday." There was this tall guy walking in with some sort of... bag...? Hanji gave me lessons yesterday on what things were during dinner. "You weren't at work, so I thought I'll stop by and get you some of that soup you liked. Again, you seem better than yesterday."

"Ahh..." Hanji turned her head, looking towards me. I think she saw me. It seemed her heart skipped a beat. "S-Sorry I didn't call. Slept in..."

"Don't worry." Moblit put her hand up on Hanji's forehead, looking down at her. "Your temperature seems fine. I'll take you to work today, since I'm here already."

Hanji raised her hands moving it around. "I-It's alright, Moblit. No need. I think I'll stay home for the day today. I-I'll drink the soup. T-Then I'll take a nap. I-I mean... *cough cough* m-my... I think that cough was hiding. I-I can't go to work."

"You have no temperature, Hanji. Go and get dressed. I think you just have a sore throat. Come on, go and get dressed. I'll wait out here for you."

When Hanji started to walk towards me, fear was peering down at me. I walked back to the bed, tripping over it. Thankfully, only Hanji was there to see me. I didn't trust anyone but Hanji... after all... she was the one who rescued me.

"What's going on...?"

Hanji sighed, going through her drawers. Her voice was lowered a bit as she spoke softly towards me. "I need to go to work... didn't think he was actually coming here... you remember how to use the phone, right? Use that to call me when something bad happens. We'll go out shopping tonight. I should be home around... 5 pm."

"O-Okay..."

"Don't worry. Just stay in this apartment. Don't leave." She then scrambles something out of her drawers. More... clothes? "Um... Levi..." Her cheeks were rosy. "Can you... go to the bathroom real quick? I need to change."

I nodded, somberly walking into the bathroom. But the door didn't click behind me. I turned back, peeking past the door. I don't understand why she was so embarrassed about changing in front of me. Mermaids don't cover themselves too much, so I don't know why seeing her like that got her rosy cheeks.

She soon walked off, and I appeared back into the bedroom. All she told me was to stay in the apartment and not leave. Minus well explore the place.

I walked into her... living room... and there was this familiar item that I've found in the ocean a couple of times. A black object that seemed to reflect my reflection. Lots of buttons were on its side... so I tapped on a few of them. I jumped when the box went off. So much light...

2 people were talking, something about... a weather? Weird.

Hours seemed to pass, and so I went through Hanji's box of coldness. Searching through it, I found the grilled salmon from last night. She instructed me to use the box of heat to make the salmon hotter. Did she say it was... a microwave...?

I sighed when I ate it. There was nothing to do. I couldn't even explore the outside world. It was best if I stayed anyways. I was a fugitive within the ocean. I can't risk being near there. If they saw me... they could invade the land and... possible hurt Hanji. I... I have to repay her. She... she saved me. I had to protect her. I just... had to.

But first.... why am I suffering by not knowing what to do?
