Missy Ander is the perfect daughter. She achieves straight As, attends clubs, has very nice friends, and is good at everything. Lina Ander? Not so much.
~~~
"Mom! I'm home!" Missy Ander stepped into the entryway and set her shoes on the shoe rack.
"Soccer practice?" Mrs. Ander asked from the kitchen.
"Basketball." Missy flashed a Crest-white smile. "I finished all my homework on the bus."
"Good girl. You have free time until dinner."
"Mom!"
Lina Ander kicked her shoes off and started up the stairs after her sister.
"Not so fast young lady." Mrs. Ander hurried over and put Lina's shoe on the rack. "Look at how your sister put her shoes away. You should follow her example. Now, where were you?"
"I was with my friends, Mom."
"I told you, your friends are a bad influence," Mrs. Ander admonished.
"They are not." Lina tried to doge her mothers hand but Mrs. Ander was too fast.
"Stop. Have you finished your homework?"
"No." Lina looked down. "I'll do it, I promise."
"Nope. Finish your homework before you go upstairs."
"But-"
"Finish your homework."
"Fine." Lina sighed. She glanced back at the stairs one last time and stuck out her tongue to her sister, who was smirking. Life was so unfair.
~~~
"Mom! I'm going to the study session and then the mall, 'kay?" Missy called as she slid on her shoes.
"Have fun!" Mrs. Ander yelled back. Lina hurried down the stairs a couple minutes later, phone at ear.
"Uh-huh. Yup. I'll be there in ten." She hung up.
"I'm going to the park with the girls," she informed her mother as she grabbed her bag off the coat rack.
"Absolutely not." Mrs. Ander blocked her with her arm. "You're going to the library to pick up books for your math test."
"Oh." Lina's face fell. She sent a quick text to her friends, then slid on her shoes. "Next week?"
"Maybe. Now go." Mrs. Ander shooed her out. "And don't try any funny business!"
~~~
Lina made a pit stop to the cafe before taking the long way to the library, passing the little place in the corner that was a hot spot for the unruly teenagers. She was more than surprised to see Missy in there, laughing with her friends. Lina stared, before hurrying past, head spinning. Was it possible that Missy, Miss Perfect, had a secret life? Lina's face spread into a wide smile as she started plotting.
~~~
"Did you have a fun time at the party, Missy?" Lina asked innocently that night during dessert.
"What party?" Missy replied, nibbling on a piece of her cake.
"You were at a party Lina?" Mrs. Ander snapped. "You should've been at the library."
"No mom, Missy was at a party." Lina smirked at Missy.
"Lina, you know Missy works hard. She deserves to have fun."
"But she was at the corner restaurant," Lina said emphatically.
"What? No I wasn't." Missy let out a high-pitched giggle.
"Really now? Because I saw otherwise." Lina held out a polaroid and Missy gasped. Mrs. Ander snatched it from her daughter.
"Missy! Have you not heard my rules about the corner restaurant?"
"B-but - w-what were you doing-"
"Your room. Now." Mrs. Ander pointed up the stairs. "And as for you," she turned her piercing glare on Lina as Missy ran up the stairs. "I think we have some talking to do."
Haha thanks for reading all of it :) This obviously isn't my best work but I found it with all the other things I wrote while I was bored so I figured might as well post it. Anyways, what'd you think?
