'Can we do it? -I mean, is it even doable?'
'Well- we can get there- that's no issue, break in there- that's fine, but, getting out. Might be a tad more difficult.'
'How so?'
' -He's theré.'
' -Oh'

Grimacing, he shook his head, contemplating, trying to come up with some kind of compromise.

'I could- but. You'd hav- ...could you bring me back?'

Not quite catching on she just stared at me blankly. I gestured to myself, and tried to hold back the snarl that taunted my lips.
And then she finally nodded, understanding.

'I'm me, remember.'

I ignored this, and just scoffed.

'But could you? I'm not- I know you've seen me, like that, briefly. But, I'm not 'pure', as it were.'
'Vampire? right?'
'Yeah, but being both, makes it so much worse. I've never met anyone like me, who could've trai- helped me. I blacked out for 13 years once. And that's- that's when I lost her.'

She gave a slight nod, understanding my hesitancy.

'We could try it now, so you don't have to worry when we get there. I'd rather you go all out, then hold back because you think there's no coming back.'

I stepping back.

A violent shudder crept through my body.

It'd been so long since I'd turned of my own volition.

It was like my body was rejoicing at the choice, finally, free from restraint.

My arms and legs stretched and lengthened turning a sickening black.

The skin on my back and shoulders bled, and sharp dark feathers, leaves and hair sprouted.

A web appeared around my shoulders and upper body. Cloaking me.

My skull cracked, splitting in two.

Gnarled horns broke through my skin, widened at the base and grew down, creating a mask

The ground writhed and fractured, the wet dirt below rose. And when it reached my outstretched hand, it hardened into a wand.
