"So you got a random note through your door?" Mandy asked and I nodded my head along as she spoke, "Telling you your smile was beautiful?""exactly that." I laughed, still confused on what had happened the evening before. Luckily I had managed to keep the letter safe from my family even though they did notice I was acting differently.
"strange." she mumbled, stopping at her locker to unlock it and collect a couple of books from it.
"i know, i can count the amount of people i'm friends with on one hand and none of them have their name beginning with C." i frowned, going over my friends over and over again in my head like i had done last night and i still couldn't think of one person i knew how had the name beginning with C. someone must be messing with me, right?
"sounds to me as if you've got yourself an admirer." mandy smirked at me, looking up slightly from going through her bag.
"come on mands, since when do i have admirers?" i laughed loudly at her suggestion. i wasn't popular with the boys and i'd only ever had one boyfriend who lasted a month before cheating on me with a boy. obviously i was enough to turn a guy gay.
"you're beautiful Nad, the sooner you notice that the better." she sighed just as the bell rang for registration.
"morning ladies." Nate grinned, already sitting at our tables at the back where no one noticed us or even wanted to notice us. sometimes i think people forget i exist.
"morning Nate." i smiled to him as i put my bag on my desk and sat down on my chair.
"ready for this stupid test this morning?" he rolled his eyes, tapping his pencil on the table.
"of course, how could I not be with parents like mine?" I said sarcastically. My parents were both teachers so as you can imagine, they made sure I was up to scratch with the work and had everything done on time.
"you're lucky they're teachers! my parents don't know a single thing about maths or any of that other rubbish." Mandy sighed.
"thats when google comes into handy Mands, you really need to learn my ways." Nate chuckled, twisting round to face front when our teacher walks in, bellowing a loud 'good morning' to the class which earned a groan from the students. Monday mornings were nobody's thing. Apart from Jeffery, the schools know it all, who loved coming into school because he always got the answers right and knew everything before the teacher even did. He wasn't your usual nerdy type, he was actually fairly good looking but boy did he know it.

the day soon came to an end and it was finally time for home. Mandy gives me lifts home since she has a flash few car and likes to show it off at any opportunity. Her family are pretty wealthy so she gets pretty much anything she wants when she wants. The complete opposite to my family.
"thanks Mands, see you two later." I smiled, grabbing my bag off the floor.
"see you tomorrow Nad," Mandy grinned, "text me if you get another love letter."
"love letter, what?" Nate asked, looking up from his phone and suddenly becoming interested.
"Mandy!" I squeaked, not wanting anyone else to know. Too many people know and I'll be getting teased for it or even worse, my parents will find out.
"I'll fill you in on the way home." Mandy giggled, sending me a small wink. I sighed and shook my head, a smile twitching at my lips. She was unbelievable. Before anything else was said, I slammed the car and stood back to wave as she drove off.
Unlocking the front door, I was giddy to get inside to check if I had another note. My stomach going mad with butterflies as I shut the door and searched the ground for a envelope with my name printed on it. But there wasn't one there. My heart dropped to my butt and I sighed under my breath. Too good to be true. I shrugged it off and hung my coat on the banister of the stairs before making my way into the kitchen. Food was the answer to everything.
