Sevyn's POV

"I'm baaack!" Quinn sang as she stepped into the house with her friend in tow. The atmosphere inside the house was lighter than when she had left hours before. The lemony scent of the floors invited her to inhale deeply, pulling in the serenity that came with a clean home.

"I'm starting to think I should hire your cleaner to be my cleaner too."  Jessica joked as Sevyn walked into the living room with a mop in hand. She was dressed in a plush bathrobe, a thick oatmeal and honey face mask and a steaming cap over her hair.

"You can't afford me." She quipped back, struggling to keep the hostility out of her voice. Sevyn was uncertain if Quinn noticed the climate surrounding their encounters. If she had, she was certainly very quiet about it.  Jessica began to show her dislike for Sevyn the moment the pair had met, she'd throw backhanded compliments disguised as jokes and played it off whenever she called her out.

"Touché. I pay well." She shrugged innocently.
"I'm sure you do darling ." She smiled back sweetly before handing the mop to Quinn.
"The place smells divine Vyn, thank you. "  "You're welcome, I'll be in my room if you need me." She called over her shoulder as she made her way up the stairs. "Your sister is so boring." Jessica giggled loudly, possibly hoping for a response. Sevyn clenched her jaw and continued on her way to her room.

Once inside she stripped and made her way into the bathroom. Stepping into the steaming shower stall, she allowed the hot water to wash away the lavender and mint Ayurvedic mask from her hair and the slushy oats and honey from her face.
She reached for her washcloth and quickly lathered it with the sickly sweet  pomegranate bath soap. Her mind drifted off as she lathered her body.

With some stroke of good fortune she had managed to land two jobs. She hadn't put much thought into it when she applied for a job vacancy—one she was hardly qualified for at a hospital nearby. So of course she hadn't exactly expected to land an interview and then obtain the job as assistant psychiatrist when both her degrees were actually in Psychology with her bsc. minor being in criminology.

The other job was back home in South Carolina as a Psychology tutor at a community college. Of course there was no doubt about which job would pay better. The job at the hospital paid more, but the cost of living in LA was significantly higher as well.

The real dilemma was really between whether she wanted to stay in LA or go back home. In all honesty there wasn't much to go back to. Her "friends" were Ezra's before they were hers and when their relationship ended the friendships followed suit. Initially she'd tried giving herself a million reasons as to why her friends would abandon her in the manner that they had but in the end she'd concluded with much help from Kadeen, that they were never her friends to begin with.

She made quick work of rinsing herself and getting her wet hair into two puffy fish braids. She had neither the strength nor the patience to carry out her full wash day routine today. In fact the longer her hair grew the less she felt the need to manipulate it. It was quite literally becoming a pain in the neck.. in the arms too if she was being honest.

Clad in her underwear and one of her many oversized shirts she made her way down the stairs to to have a talk with Quinn. She found her sister in the kitchen feasting on a tub of vanilla ice cream. "Hey, Vyn you want some ice cream? There's mint chocolate chip or pistachio in the fridge if you don't want vanilla."
