Sevyn's POV
Re-reading the final line of her notes, Sevyn clicked send on the email before dropping her pounding head on the cool metal of her work desk. Another work week had come to a slow close. This one had proven to be an especially hard week. On Wednesday news reached her from the police that her youngest patient an eleven year old— Felicia Kentwell, had committed suicide. The young girl had finally opened up to her a week prior, about being raped by her former foster father. Following protocol she reported the incident to social services.
A new heaviness had unfurled in her chest since then. The thought of having failed this child tore at her conscience. What if by calling social services she had inadvertently caused Felicia's death. A child died believing she was deserving of the actions of a grown man, and not just any child—this was a child that she should have convinced otherwise. She sat at her desk for what felt like eternity thinking of what she could have done or said differently, she had found herself doing this more frequently than not throughout the week.
"Sevyn?"
She looked up, stunned to see Shane at the door. How long has he been standing there? She wondered.
"H-hey Shane," she replied hesitantly. "How long have you been standing there?""Just a few seconds shy of coming off as creepy." he grinned, his icy blue eyes twinkled with mirth.
She returned a small smile of her own. "Did you need something? Was there an issue with the notes I sent?""No-not at all, I'm sure they're perfect as usual. I-I uh-" he scratched his head nervously before continuing.
"A small group of us are actually going for drinks right now and we'd like it if you joined us?" He asked hopefully. She deliberated for a second before responding, "I was actually planning on having a drink with a friend tonight so I don't really know."
She had thought about inviting Micah out for a drink tonight but she hadn't actually gotten around to doing it. She wasn't even sure he would accept. She had given him the cold shoulder after their date and had spent the rest of the week buried in her thoughts.
"That's great!" A red headed nursing intern she had come to know as Apryl chirped, sticking her head around him.
"You could tell them to tag along it's gonna be quite a few of us. The bar belongs to an old friend, it's newly opened and he could use the support so the more the merrier."
"Okay I'll just do that then, um should I meet you guys there? What's the address?"
She queried.Shane shook his head, "No need, I actually ordered an Uber, it will be here in a couple minutes so you could ride with us."
"Okay great. I'll be out in a sec, I just have a quick call to make."

Micah's POV"Still haven't heard from her?" Reny asked as he watched his friend check his phone
again."Nope.." He sighed. Depositing the phone on the table, he turned his attention back
to the steaming plate of pasta before him."Haven't heard from who?" Kang asked. "What else have I missed?" He queried
before shovelling another forkful of vegetables into his mouth."I forgot you didn't know about Sevyn.. So basically what happened was that our
friend here.." Reny started with a chuckle."Met an amazing woman but his crazy ex-fling— the one that so graciously left me with this scar-" he pointed to his left palm,
