As Zoya walked in through the main door of the Hooda residence after greeting the officers standing outside the front gate of the house, she instantly felt the fresh aroma around. Zoya inhaled the joyful scent of fruits and almost unknowingly marched towards the pantry.
"Wow Maria aunty, what a great way to start the evening. You are making Lemonade aren't you? I just love.."
As Zoya expressed her enthusiasm in a high pitched tone over having lemonade after staying out for a long time in a hot sunny day, she was dumbstruck as she saw that it was the one and only Aditya Hooda and not the house maid, staring at her as if she has grown two horns.
Twirling a lemonade fruit up and down in his hand it looked as if he was making fun of her comment. The smirk at the corner of his lips didn't go unnoticed by Zoya as she suddenly started looking elsewhere to refuse any kind of discussion with him. At once she remembered how Aditya had left a thank you note for her in the morning for most probably the support she lent him last night when he wasn't in his senses after seeing his father with another woman at the dinner party.
Slow down Zoya! This isn't just any random guy but the Aditya Hooda and he has been unpredictable since day one. Of course, almost a week has gone and he has been trying to act more descent from some time but that doesn't mean that a person like him won't change his colours! Zoya had her doubts as she pondered to herself and slowly drifted her attention towards Aditya as he placed the fruit on the chopping board and walked towards her. Taking a step back Zoya cleared her throat and started speaking before he had any chance to tease her.
"Is baar mujhe kis baat keliye warn karoge? That I shouldn't interfere with your personal life? Mujhe apna mooh bandh rakhna chahiye? Ya phir mujhe is ghar se humesha keliye jaana hoga? Aditya believe me! I won't tell Anjana aunty anything about what I saw aur jab main tumse yeh keherahi hoon ki mujh par trust karo, tumhe mujh par trust karna hoga because there's no other option. I don't want to create a rift between your parents and I specially care about your mother Aditya. Anjana aunty day one se lekar mujhe apni beti jaise treat kar rahi hai aur main elders ko respect karna jaanti hoon. I'll mind my own business hereafter aur anyway kal se mera college shuru horaha hai aur.."
Zoya spilled what she wanted Aditya to know about her opinion regarding his family matters. She just wanted to place her point in front of him to let him know that she knows her limits but without letting her continue, Aditya quickly placed his hand covering her mouth. Zoya widened her eyes in horror as she eyed his hand and then looked at his face. She was correct, he's so unpredictable.
"Zoya Khurana! Humesha mere saath hyperactive baat karna zaroori hai kya? Ya phir tumhare mann mein ye khayal rehetha hai ki Aditya Hooda deserves s*** only? I'm not going to threaten you or ask you to leave or anything, so just relax.."
Aditya's tone was loud enough to make Zoya understand that he meant what he said but it was almost as if he was talking to no one particularly.
As Zoya scrunched her brows with chaotic thoughts running across her mind, Aditya took away his hand and looked down at his feet. Zoya observed his every move as he seemed more like smiling to himself. She couldn't believe the guy!
What does he want exactly? Does Aditya want to play goody two shoes for a change and admit that he indeed wrote that note to me or act neutral as if nothing happened? Zoya's brain felt heavy and she decided to cut to the chase.
"Tumhara matlab kya hai? Main hyperactive hoon, seriously Aditya? Kya tum khud ko aine mein teek se dekha hai aisi beheki.."
"Of course, kyun na dekhoon? I'm a handsome young man who is easy on the eyes! Look Zoya, I.."
