The reaping

I am walking home from the woods. Everyone is getting ready for the reaping. I finally reach my house. I walk through the front door and prim is wearing a blue and white checkered dress and got french plaits down both sides. I say
" you look gorgeous little duck" then my mam interrupts and says
" I've laid something out for you too"
I say in a shaky voice " okay"
I go and wash myself In a metal bucket. Then I walk into out bedroom and there is a plain blue dress lying on the bed. I put on the dress and walk into the kitchen. Prim says " I wish I looked like you "
" no I wish I looked like you little duck " I say back softly
Then my mam says " I will do your hair now " I stand up and she puts my hair in a bun. Then the bell rings for us to walk to the reaping. Prim gasps. It's prim's first time at the reaping there's one every year. We walk out the house and to the reaping. My mam hesitates then she finally comes. We were near to the stage when prim starts to cry and I pull her over to the side. I say there only going to take a little bit blood. "It doesn't hurt" I say. She stops crying but I can see she's not ok. Then we start walking.My mother is waiting in the audience. She didn't need to get her finger pricked because she is over eighteen. We eventually get to the queue. It was nearly prim's turn to get her finger pricked I saw gale I was trying to get his attention but he headed to his space. I couldn't see prim anywhere. I looked around me. Then I heard someone say "next" I give her my finger and move on. I finally get to my space and I can't find prim. But I now she's in the audience. So my nerves calm. Someone walks up on the stage and taps the Mike. " welcome, welcome to the 74th hunger games my name is Effie trinket and this is a clip all the way from the capital". The clip starts, it's the one they play every year. Because of the sacrifice of the capital against war twelve brave girls and boys are forced to go to the tv show the hunger games. Only people aged 12 to 18 are chosen. Effie trinket says " I love that clip" the. She's the only one clapping. She says " made the odds be ever in your favour, as usual ladies first" she walks over to the glass bowl stirs her hand round and picks a slip of paper. She walks back to the Mike opens the slip off paper and reads out the name " primrose Everdeen, come out come on" prim starts to walk up to the stage when I jump out from the crowd the peacekeepers hold me back then I scream out load " I volunteer, I volunteer" Effie trinket says " well district twelves first volunteer" I walk to the stage. Then I stumble next to Effie. She says " I believe that was your sister"
" yes" I answer back. Then Effie walks over to the men's stirs her hand round and pulls out the slip. She walks back over to the Mike and says out load "Peeta Melark" the crown of men step back and Peeta slowly walks onto the strange Effie says " these are out 75th hunger games tributes Katnis Everdeen and Peeta Melark.
