My jet soars through the air. Racing with the wind, leaving streaks behind me as I fly. I cheer out loud from the rush it's giving me. I fly around, preforming a few twists and loops. I have no care in the world at the moment. I'm just so happy to be in the air. Look at me go! I continue to whoop and shout. I'm so focused on my excitement I don't see the blue jet that's coming up from behind me. It isn't until the glare off of the gold cockpit catches my eye, that I finally see him. I bounce in my seat at the sight. I'm so happy to see the gorgeous flying machine. Its what I've been looking forward to seeing since I've been grounded. I wave over to him, even though I have no idea if he saw me or not. I don't care, I'm way to happy for anything to ruin this moment. He flies in front of me, I'm assuming for me to follow him.
He goes in for landing in the outskirts of the desert. Enough open area for us to both land. We descend to the ground and our landing gears become ready. I put all my focus into the landing, I don't want to mess up in front of him. I don't want to mess up at all. My wheel touch the ground and I think this is one of my better landings. No wobbly jet on my watch. Once I know the jet is in park and not going anywhere, I'm out and on the ground waiting for Dreadwing. I'm halfway to his jet before he even has his cockpit open. I hear the hissing of the hydraulics and my eyes land upon that intimidating, strong face. His eyes glowing ever so slightly.
"Dreadwing!" I call out to him as he hops down.
"Lieutenant." He acknowledges me, "How was the flight?"
"It was amazing. I'm just happy to finally get some airtime." I say excitedly.
He's about to speak again, when the sound of tires upon the desert sand interrupt him. We both look behind his jet and a red sports car is racing in fast. Why is there a sports car in the desert and why is it coming for us? Dreadwings has the look of shock written all over his face.
"Get back in your jet?" He orders, coming closer and pushing me towards my ride.
"What? What is going on?" I question, trying to stop him, "Dreadwing!"
"You have to go now." He growls, still pushing me.
"Why? Do you know the stupid driver? He's going to ruin an axle or something driving in the sand like that."
"Just go. You have to get out of here."
He's got me at the front of my jet now, but before I can get in, the car has closed in and before I can say or do anything, it transforms. The fenders break apart, moving to different areas as a being appears, almost human like, but a robot. The wheels connect to its legs and wings on his back. It's head forms at the top of its slender build, a white silvery face and red frames around it, highlighting its crimson eyes. A smug grin forms over its face. Though looking at it now, I'd say it has male like characteristics. I'm going to say it's a he.
"Well well well, Dreadwing. So, this is where you've been sneaking off too. To visit a fleshy." He says in a silvery tone.
"Knockout, what are you doing here?" Dreadwing hisses, standing in front of me, protectively.
"You know this robot?" I can't help but ask, looking around him, wanting a better view.
"Robot?! I am not a robot." The robot says clearly offended by what I said. He leans down and stares daggers at me. I decided I'm going to stay behind Dreadwing.
"Then what are you?" I blurt out.
"Dreadwing have you not taught this human anything?"
"What are you doing here Knockout?" Dreadwing's eyebrows are pinched inward and his eyes are glowing slightly, but he continues to glare at the non-robot that looks like a robot.
