AN~ sorry for taking so gosh darn long to update~
But if you haven't noticed yet I'm going back to the first story and adding more about Violet's mom. Thanks for all the support and helping this story reach over 1K reads. Also the first book is up to nearly 7K. Thank you guys!!! You're so awesome- please keep reading.
This chapter will be more of a filler but I hope it's still good. Also if you where wondering there are ducks outside my house attacking each other and making a lot of noise so yeah.
ALEX'S POV
It was my first day here at this place, so far it wasn't that bad. Apart from the god awful food they make you eat and the people constantly watching you, it was good to have sort of a change. A break from the usual stress of life.
Me and my new friend, Olivia, had finally made it to Math. Our last class of the day.
I had pretty much the same schedule as her expect for Reading, and Business Law. We walked into the class, there was four rows of perfectly alined desks, a chalkboard at the front covered with expressions and numbers I didn't understand, and a window to the side of the room, or course it was covered by blinds.
There was a teachers desk pushed up against the window and computers lining the back of the room.
Where were all the cheesy math posters from my old school? Like where the number one says to the negative one "Be positive!" Or something stupid like that.
Kids began to flood into the classroom and silently take their seats. What the fuck? Where was all the shouting and paper wars coming from the boys in the back of the class?
Where was the fun? The tradition? This wasn't even a school, it was prison. Clearly this class was going to be just as bad as the cafeteria pizza I ate earlier. I decided to take it upon myself to change this. I was going to turn this stupid wasteland into a real classroom.
A man walked in from the back door of the class. He was wearing a brown suit with a matching tie. I glared at him as he made his way to the front. I could only image what high school fun he had stolen from all these students.
I sat down next to Liv and waited for him to introduce me like the other teachers had, but it never came.
"Everyone take out your books and turn to page 956," he stated, his voice was as boring as his stupid face. My jaw dropped. 900 pages? What was the whole fucking Harry Potter series rolled up into one?
I jumped up from my seat and announced, "Hey Mr. No Fun, I don't have a book!"
Yes I am aware how stupid my insult was but really it was more of a warm up for the battle that was about to erupt.Olivia and the whole class all starred at me with the same horrified expressions. The teacher, Mr. Horowitz, turned to look at me.
"You must be the new student," he said, as if nothing was wrong and he had just noticed me.
"Yeah, that doesn't solve the fact that I still don't have a book," I said, waiting for him to give me a detention or something, Instead he walked over to my desk and handed me an notebook.
I flipped through the pages. "This is blank," I informed him.
Olivia motioned for me to shut up but I didn't listen.
"Class who can tell me why Miss. Fuentes notebook is blank?" asked the teacher, looking around.
Immediately everyone but Liv's and some boy in the back hands shot up. He called on another boring looking student who answered with, "We have to fill them out ourselves."
My jaw dropped. 900 pages? We where only a few months into the year. "I'm not doing that."
He looked at me with an amused expression. "Suit yourself."
Wait? What? Why didn't he care if I filled it out? I shrugged trying not to worry too much. Why would I argue with him when he didn't make me do the work.
I pulled out my iPod and headphones, I just listened to music for the rest of the class. It was clear that he saw me, yet he still didn't care. What was wrong with this guy?
I then started replying to some of my old friends.
From Dan: Hey Alex, haven't talk in a while. How are you?
From Dan: Hey Alex, What's up?
From Dan: you okay?
From Dan: I'm really worried, why are you never in school?
From Dan: Alex...?He seemed pretty worried.
To Dan: Hey it's Al, my mom switched me to some private school and I'm in math class right now but I'm fine. :)
From Dan: oh, that sucks.
To Dan: Tell me about it, the kids here are weird. Especially this teacher.
From Dan: How so?
To Dan: The kids are like robots and this teacher doesn't give a fuck about me or what I do. I'm clearly texting and talking back and listening to music the whole time and no one cares.
From Dan: Tell me again why this is a bad thing?
To Dan: it isn't, it's just weird...
From Dan: I gotta run, Mr.Davis is onto me. Peace out Girl Scout. ✌️
To Dan: Byeeeee
Class finished and I walked back to my room, I played some old Darkness Falls. I wish I wasn't so weird. I wish I could just go on tour and be in a band like Mom. I wish people liked me. I wish I was stronger, Mom never cried.
I shook away my thoughts and curled up into my new bed. I pulled up the blanket over my shoulders and eventually drifted off to sleep.
