Mellifluous

Chapter 1: Silent

"Mellifluous a sound so sweet and so smooth that it is pleasing to hear.

LOVE, would be the same exact thing,

hearing those three simple yet pleasing words from the person you truly love the most,

"I love you"

will make your heart flutter and make your face flustered just by hearing them.

love is packed with such words, 'innocent', 'tender', and 'precious', people place many significance when it comes to love.

Even though what hides behind that sweet and pleasing feeling, is bitterness and pain, people can be so naive..

It disgusts me."

As I finish typing on my laptop, I overwhelmingly sighed, and looked outside the window.

" Hm.. Is it raining? " I opened the window out of curiosity

The musty, barky smell of fresh rain fallen on the dry earth.

The smell of petrichor will entice you, and a pluviophile would as well.

And the chilly yet refreshing blow of wind that entered through my window inside the room, how nice it was.

I closed my eyes, with such a pleased expression on my face, savoring the moment.

...

I opened my eyes again, still facing outside the window.

Somehow I spaced out while looking at someone in the other building apartments window.

The person on the other side of the apartment building was actually waving at me.

Couldn't see his face clearly due to the rain.. And I was spacing out that time.. How unfortunate.

"O- Oh!" I managed to snap out of it, and waved shyly back at the person, as he was about to close the window curtains.

"What the hell is wrong with me.. "
I brushed the hair on my forehead and gave off a frowned expression as If the embarassment is written all over my face.

As I cringed of the thought that I did something humiliating, the rain suddenly stopped and gave off a last blow of wind that made me shiver.

"... How quiet it is right now.."

I head to the kitchen while saying those lines to myself.

As I was heading to the kitchen to please my needs into making a cup of coffee.

.. My phone suddenly rang, It was from an unknown number.

I answered my phone.

...

"Hello?" I said with confusion.

Five seconds had already passed It was silent, no one.. Is talking?

It gave me goosebumps as If I were to be in a horror movie, and was the next person to be murdered.

It was funny to imagine yet it was scary and thrilling at the same time.

I chuckled to myself from the thought that I had, as I thinked of it as a mere joke.

...

No one is still responding.

"Hey, is this some sort of pran-" As I was about to finish saying something, the person suddenly hung up.

"What the.."

...

Everything that was just happening today, was already enough to weird me out.

I boiled some water afterwards, as if nothing happened and continued to satisfy my needs.

"The atmosphere is quite suffocating today. " I said to myself, as I grab my phone and blocked the unknown number that called me.

...

" I wonder.."
