Green and brown spots were all Sanem saw as she dashed through the woods toward the yellow river and Can's hideout. Ayhan's words still echoed in her ears: "...someone got injured during a hunt and they needed her to tend to them..."

What if they were too late? What if someone had discovered and hurt him? Thankfully it was Osman who had found him and hopefully soon enough. She kept on thinking that maybe the hut wasn't a good shelter after all, that maybe she should have found him another place or kept him at the clinic until he fully recovered. All those questions made her head buzz and she ran faster if it was even possible.

Suddenly, just as she was nearing the meadow close-by the wooden hut, she heard voices on her left. She came to a halt and decided to climb in a tree nearby and observe what was going on as she steadied her breath. At first she couldn't quite see who or where the voices were coming from. She travelled from one tree to the other until she finally saw them. Remide Teyze and Osman were bent over what seemed like a body, whereas Ahmet appeared to be looking for something around them.

"Is he still alive?"

"Evet, he is breathing. But barely. Whoever did this did a great job but we need to get him to the clinic as soon as possible!"

"No!"

Both Remide Teyze and Osman's heads jerked up at Sanem's sudden cry. She came rushing down the tree as tears starting to pour down her face. She couldn't hold it in any more. She couldn't do it again. She wouldn't bear it if Can didn't make it out alive. She felt more than she saw Osman preventing her from coming closer to the body lying on the grass.

"Bırak beni! Let me go! I need to see him!"

"Sanem! Listen to me!" Osman raised his voice as he tightened his grip around her arms making her look at him through teary eyes. "It's not him."

Sanem hiccuped and looked into her friend's eyes, looking for the truth. "N...Ne?"

"It's not him. O Can değil."

She tried to quiet her sobs. "Kim o zaman?"

Osman released her once he was sure that she wouldn't do anything reckless and stepped aside so she could see for herself. Sanem slowly walked to the person lying on the floor. Now that she could take a good look, she realised that he seemed thinner and shorter in stature than Can. He also had blonde hair instead of dark. She felt immensely relieved and a bit stupid for having reacted that way. Nevertheless she knelt down next to Remide Teyze who was still assessing him.

"Remide Teyze, what happened to him? Is he okay?"

"He is barely breathing. We need to get him to town fast so I can treat him properly."

"What happened to him?"

"Sanem," Osman began tentatively, "I found him lying there... with a wound similar to Can's when you found him."

Sanem got up frowning. "Nasıl?"

"He was hit by an arrow. A poisoned one."

"How is that possible?"

"Bilmiyorum ama... we have to find out who did this as soon as possible."

"His state is worsening! Çabuk erkekler! We need to get him to the clinic as fast as possible!"

The men immediately put the young man on a plank and went away with him. Sanem looked at them go. As she exchanged a look with Osman she knew that he understood. She needed to find Can and ease her troubled heart. Therefore, she made her way to Can's hideout as fast as she could. When she got there the meadow was empty with no trace of him.
