Cassidys POV
Once my dad puts all our belongings in the boot of the car he jumps into the drivers seat.
He looks over at me and looks like he's about to say something, but then stops himself and turns on the ignition.
We pull out of the driveway while I put my headphones in my ears to avoid any awkward situations.
"How to save a life" by The Fray came on. I press skip onto the next song because I'm not in the mood for songs like that. I need to listen to songs to cheer myself up you see. It's the only thing that works.
I click onto my playlists and put "If You Can't Hang" by Sleeping With Sirens on.
I bob my head to the beat of the music and mouth the lyrics of the song as I put it to maximum volume.
I look over at my dad, he looks different today. Almost as if something's bothering him. Or as if he's scared? Or worried? I would like to think its because of the move, but somehow I know it's not that. I guess I'll just find out when we're in on the plane. We'll be stuck on that son of a bitch for hours anyway.
I close my eyes and think about how my new life in Australia will be. And pray nothing else will go wrong.
Ashton's POV
"Dude that kicked ass! Did you hear my guitar solo?! Did you hear it?!" Mikey screams as we finish a song.
"We all heard it Mikey we're literally 2 feet away from you" Luke says drowning out Michael's spirit.
"Sorry.. I want pizza" he quickly changes the subject.
"I'm on it" Luke says as he walks away with his phone to his ear.
"Ash!! Ashton sweetie!!" My mum yells.
"Yessss!!!" I tell back.
"Come here for a second! I need to speak with you!" Oh shit..
"Coming!"
"What did you do?" Cal asks.
"I don't even know, but I'm going to find out.."
I jog to the kitchen to speak to my mum. She's sat down holding a cup of tea in her hands.
"What's up?" I say.
"Sit down hun" she replies.
I frown slightly, I'm beginning to think this is something quite serious.
"What's going on?" I ask again.
She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath in.
"I didn't know when or how to say this. And I know this will be quite a shock.." she slowly says.
"What is it mum"
"There's this girl who will be living here with you for the next few months. Her and her dad just moved here. Her dad is going to work at my place soon but he needs to be trained and I have been chosen to train him. The training course is 6 months long and in a different country. We're not sure where yet though. So I need you to take care of her and the kids while I'm gone. I know it's a lot to ask for Ash but it would mean a lot" she blurts out.
I stare blankly at her.
Is she serious?
I clench my eyes shut and abruptly walk out the room, slamming the door and make my way back to the drums.
This is not happening.
