On July 4th the zodiac took the life of Elizabeth Ferrin (22), and serverely injured Micheal Renault Mageua (19).

They were parked at Blue Rock Springs Golf Course in Benicia around midnight, four miles away from where Jensen and Faraday were shot.
A car pulled up behind them blocking them from leaving. A man who Mageua believed was a police officer, left his car holding a bright flashlight that obscured his face.
He approached the drivers side of the car and immediatly began shooting at the couple Ferrin immadiatly died and Mageua was shot in the Jaw, Shouler, and leg and survived.
The shooter turned to leave but returned after hearing Mageua shout. He fired four more times one bullet hit Mageua and two struck the already dead body of Ferrin. The shooter then got in his car and left.
Within minuites, three teens came across the couple and hurried to get help.
Mageua survived and gave a description of the shooter: a short, heavyset white man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and around 195 pounds.
At 12:40 a.m. An anonymous male caller contacted the Vallejo Police department, reporting Jensen's and Faraday's murder, claiming responsibility. Police traced this call to a phone booth blocks from the police department and less then a mile from Ferrin's home.
The caller told police:
"I wish to report a double murder. If you will go one mile east on Columbus Parkway to a public park, you will find the kids in a brown car. They have been shot by a 9 mm Luger. I also killed those kids last year. Goodbye."
