i lay on the bench of the rest stop, vicious water hitting the glass. my body was soaked, i didn't care.
high as a kite i lay there, my now oversized black clothing uncomfortably sticking to my skin.
my violet purple hair turned stringy, the eyeliner i wore was long gone by now.
a man approached me, "hi, can i sit?"
i chuckled at his approach, "go away kid, you're dealing with a lost cause."
he lifted my legs off of the bench so he could take a seat. he huffed while sitting down, running his finger through his red hair. the boy seemed tired, exhausted actually. his tanned skin reflected off the base light of the streets. lighting flashed, not even causing a flinch.
"you seem tired." he spoke.
i giggled incoherently, taking a look up into the sky.
"ahh~ it's the kind of tired sleep can't fix."
i watched as he looked over at me, smiling. "you're cute."
"likewise, stunner."
the wind caused the pouring water to hit the glass like bullets.
"who are you, kid?"
"nobody important ma'am."
i noticed what was so intriguing about him, that accent.
"an aussie."
he flashed a cute smile, nodding his head.
"ah yes, my secret."
i rolled my head back to look straight up. a man called for someone, a felix.
"aish! felix~ah, don't run off like that again."
the boy i was resting my legs on jerked up in urgency. he faced me quietly, "i have to go."
i didn't say a word, just continued looking up.
"will i ever see you again ma'am?"
i shrugged my shoulders, pointing to the run down apartments behind me. "i'm always here."
quickly he pulled out a scrap from a menu and scribbled something down before heading off without a word.

i smiled, taping the note to my wall. it reminded me of the boy i probably will never see again. felix.
