college was rough, but manageable.
working at a record shop also wasn't ideal, but it was fitting.
idols new albums crowded the shelves. i began to organize them one by one. the packaging was new and soft on some. i read the lettering, placing them in their designated spots.
"unveil, stray kids."
a strong instinct urged me to take one more glimpse at the cover. nine boys with straight faces, but one all too familiar.
"ah~ an idol hm kid? cute." i thought to myself, shaking my head before placing it on the shelf.
-
after work, my usual spot was open. café 0.
nobody usually entered at this time of night, but i did.
"다시 안녕하세요." the barista smiled.
(hello again.)
"hello micha, please give me the usual."
tired laughter of many people shot from the back of the café. the scattered conversation was nice but i preferred to be alone. nine boys sat at a round table, conversing weakly.
i grabbed my drink, heading for my normal spot of the back. my laptop bag draped across my tired body. when i sat down, i made contact with one of the nine boys in the empty cafe.
felix.
he smiled sheepishly, trying not to make it obvious he was staring. i smirked, placing my earbuds in my ears. lyrics came flowing out of me like blood.
-
i had peacefully drifted to sleep in the café booth, but unfortunately it had to come to an end.
micha approached my sleeping figure as usual, tapping my shoulder. he had another iced americano to go in his hand.
"it's the end of my shift, we gotta get going."
i huffed, taking out my earbuds. i went to grab my laptop but it was gone. panic shot through my veins, i began looking all around.
"micha where did my laptop go?"
a confused look crept in his face. "your manager took it?"
i scoffed, looking just as confused. "what manager micha i don't HAVE one?"
he raised his hands in defense. "i don't know! this man with an australian accent approached me before he left saying he was taking your laptop for a bit. he claimed he was your manager, he was with those boys when you came in earlier. also, he left you a note." micha sighed, sliding a piece of paper across the table.
