Years has past by, way too quickly. His hair is longer, his face seems more mature now. However, his heart still beats for the same person.
Jeongguk's eyes were red as he stare at the wedding invitation that he received with a name so familiar that lies on the kitchen counter.
How can he be one of the groomsmen in this state? How can you betray him when you have already promise forever?
His suit feels like too tight, even when it's already tailored perfectly just for him. Choking his neck. He wanted to just get out of it fast, and run back to the bedroom, hiding his sorrow away.
He snuffed his nose, fixing one of his cuff.
"Don't"
Voice booming from the living room.
"I have fixed everything. So, don't even think about it!"
He pouted, looking up at you. You look beautiful in that turquoise bridesmaid dress, he does not know why, but you look like you just came straight out of the Little Mermaid movie.
Your hair perfectly tucked behind your ear as you clip your earrings. "Come here," he open his arms.
You glance at him mockingly, "Why are you being soo whiny?" You came closer to him, embracing his figure.
"Petals! How could you? After all the hardships that I've went through?" He backs away from you, clutching his heart dramatically.
"Hey! It's only a trim!" You exclaimed. "You're acting like a big baby," He widen his eyes at your statement.
"Take that back," In his mind, he has already prepare for a tickle war until you cry like he did, and he is determined to win that war.
"I did not even cut your hair that much. You were complaining that Seokjin keeps teasing you that you look like a triangle-kimbap, it's not because you don't look good in long hair. You just needed a trim!"
He scrunched his nose at the name of his current nemesis, "Now that I think about it. Maybe, he's just jealous of my youth."
You chuckled, you ran your hand through his hair. "Maybe, but whatever it is, you gotta look good in your brother's wedding pictures right?"
"So, you don't think I look good?" He wince his eyes at you. You're laughing, slapping his chest
"Babe, you're putting words in my mouth! That's not what I mean."
"Petals, just admit it. You hate me now. You don't love me anymore, I knew it." You cackle at his accusation. "That damn perilla leaf..." he mumble while covering his eyes with his hands as if he was about to cry.
"Oh my god, forget about the perilla leaf incident! I was just trying to be polite! Seokjin also took care of us by peeling the shrimps."
"You love my nemesis, is that why you trim my hair when I was asleep?!"
Instead of getting angry, you just laugh really loudly at your fiancé demeanor. You peck his cheek, "Maybe?"
He gasp. At this point your stomach hurt because you were laughing too much.
"Okay, we really need to go now. Your brother is going to be sulky, when he knows we're late." You turn your head to look at the clock behind.
"Promise me, you will never leave me for Seokjin-hyung."
"Yeah, I promise."
"Promise, you will looove me and cherish me even whether I look like a triangle-kimbap or round-kimbap." He emphasized on the word love.
"Yeah, triangle or round."
You give him an eskimo kiss, dragging him away from the kitchen counter. "But I might leave you for Namjoon, he looks really good in his suit. Have you seen his bicep?"
He gasp loudly, "PETALS!" While you hold back your laugh.
Long pause, before he continues "But fair enough, I will also leave you for him." This time you cannot hold back your laugh anymore.

↳ hello! It has been way too long right? It's been 2 years now, and the 45k views and 2k votes turn into 166k views and 8k votes which is a pretty big number for me. How are you guys? Life has been keeping me up but I was surprised that there are messages, notes and comments from people that love 'Petals' as much as I did. Truthfully, this book was inspired by my own childhood story and a mix up with my favorite romance trope. I still couldn't believe that there are people who holds dear into this story too!
