Chapter One: Death

Steven's POV

"Spinel, why do you want to kill me so bad when I was trying to help you?!" I shout at her. "I listened to you, comforted you, and gave you another chance. What do I need to do so I can be your friend? Rip my mother's head off her body and give it to you on a silver plater?! Oh, right, I can't do that because she doesn't exist anymore! Why are you still mad at someone who has been dead for 16 years! Give it up already and put me safely back on the ground!" I continue as she loosens her grip on my jacket and I tighten my grip on her hand until she is no longer hanging onto me. She grabs the rejuvenator, severs my stomach, and cuts off my arm. "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" I yell as I fall down the side of the injector, my arm following. I hit the ground and cough up blood as my arm drops beside me. The van is there in an instant, and Spinel is on the ground.

"Seems like your a little to late to save your friend. Too bad. I was starting to like him before my hand slipped and here we are. Steven will poof sooner or later, if I let him bleed. So, I will take my leave," I moan in pain as I make an effort to stand, and I eventually do. "What are you going to do to me Steven? Attack me? Avenge your soon-to-be death? You can't do anything like that and you know it," She chuckles. The gems immediately surround me, but leave me a clear view of Spinel.

"No. NO! I can't die, and I never will die completely. I just wish my mom didn't leave me with a bunch of angry superpowered toddlers and a pile of her mistakes to clean up after! First Jasper, then the cluster, then Bismuth trying to kill me, then the Diamonds, and now you! After I finally thought I had cleaned up all of the crap my mom left behind, you come sauntering in here with your injector, thinking just because your sad and upset, you can kill MY planet! The planet I've already die for at least once! Who do you think you are! Controller of the galaxy?! I'm sorry that you can't accept the fact that life is tough, and that the universe doesn't revolve around you! I'm sorry about what Mom did to you, and I want to make it better, but you won't let me!" I push the gems away and stand right in front of her, and I can see the fear in her eyes. My blood splatters her face as I continue to yell at her. "Well I have news for you. If I die, you have two things coming after you. Mom and Pink Steven. And they won't be happy. So I suggest that if you want to live, be nice to them." She stares at me. I slowly  walk back to the gems with the little energy I have left. "Say hi to Mom for me guys," I tell them as I fall to the ground.

Rose's POV

The gem glows and I reform, which is confusing because of Steven. I look around me in all the confusion before I pick out my son, bloody and dead on the ground.
