"Say hi to daddy!" Callie laughed as she gently set Sophia on Mark's lap.
Mark grinned, hugging his daughter. "Hey baby!" As he watched his daughter, his mind couldn't help but wander to Lydia. She had looked... different than he remembered.
"Derek, what's going on?" Arizona asked worriedly, snapping Mark from his thoughts.
Instantly, he turned his attention to his best friend, who was quickly closing his phone. The older friend struggled to sit up more as Arizona picked up their daughter. His friend was white as a sheet and visibly shaking. "Derek?"
The neurosurgeon looked to Torres. "Callie, we need to go. Now. Can Arizona handle Sophia?"
Callie looked down at her wife, who looked horrified, gesturing to her wheelchair. "Uh... Derek, Arizona's still getting used to being out of the house and I'm not on the clock, so-"
Before she could finish, Mark cut her off. "We've got it, Torres. Go." The older woman opened her mouth to object when she took another glance at Derek. Without another word, she nodded and both she and McDreamy rushed out the door.
"Geez," Arizona sighed, watching her daughter with a nervous smile. "I wonder what that was all about."

Derek ran like a bat out of hell from the hospital doors, with Callie cursing up a storm as she ran behind him. His sister's car was mangled almost beyond recognition. It looked like a semi had hit her on the passenger side, completely crushing the car. He slid to a stop next to his wife. "Derek!" Meredith cried.
He didn't respond, kneeling down instead to spot his sister, who was pinned underneath the wreckage. She had a nasty gash in her head and her legs were so buried they weren't even visible. The arm closest to where she had been hit was clearly broken. "Oh God..." Her brother gasped. "Hey Lydia?"
"Derek?" she moaned.
Callie swore at the sight of the younger Shepherd. "Okay, Lydia, honey that looks like a nasty head lac you got there. Can you move your fingers for me, sweetie?"
"Yeah... Yeah sure." Lydia leaned her head back, closing her eyes to focus. Derek and Meredith froze, staring at her unmoving hand. Finally, the youngest sister's eyes opened and she looked towards her family in horror. "They didn't move did they?"
Callie forced a comforting smile. "They didn't but that's okay. Um... Derek that's a pretty nasty head lac. You wanna do a quick check?"
Derek shook his head, forcing 'himself to press on. "Yeah. Yeah, okay. Okay, Jellybelly." He pulled out a flashlight, checking her eyes. "It looks like you've at least got a mild concussion, okay? So I'm gonna need you to do something for me and it's gonna sound really easy okay, but that's what we want. We want it to be super easy for you okay?" When she nodded, he continued, shakily. "Okay can you name our siblings in order?"
Lydia nodded slowly. "I can do that. Easy. First is..." She stared off for a second, laughing a little. "Um, sorry I think I'm just a little nervous. The oldest is..." Meredith and Callie's heads snapped towards Derek, who was paling more by the second.
Her older brother tried to switch tactics. "How about just their names,
"Lydia it's-" Before Meredith could finish, the younger sibling cut her off.
"No! Hang on I know this I'm just scrambled and I-" Tears started streaming down her cheeks and she began squirming underneath the wreckage.
"Okay, Lydia you need to calm down for me okay?"
