SiobhanI didn't sleep all night. I rarely slept anyways. Sleeping brings memories and flashbacks that I would rather not relive.
I got out of bed as Naomi's alarm went off. She groaned, "too...early."
I laughed and went into the bathroom to take a shower. I put on some makeup and tried to cover up the bags under my eyes as best I could. I put on a pair of dark green cargo pants and a loose black crop top. I slipped on my favorite sneakers and sighed. These were the first things I bought for myself after my parents died. They mean a lot to me. Buying them was like the first time I actually did something for myself since they died. Weird since they are fake Jordan's that I got from Chinatown but still.
I grabbed the schedule they gave me from my bag. "Please tell me we at least have first period together."
"Sorry you've got history first and I've got math," Naomi said sympathetically, "But we have English and Physics together!"
Thankfully Naomi's class was near mine so I didn't have to figure out how to get there alone. I walked in a couple minutes before the bell rang and grabbed a seat near the window.
When the bell rang I took out my book as the teacher began to introduce himself. About fifteen minutes into the introduction the door swung open. Liam sauntered through the door. Well isn't this great. I had really been hoping to never see him again after last night. I can't believe I let him see me like that. I promised myself that I wouldn't let anyone know what I used to be like. On top of that I almost kissed him. Shit I really wanted to kiss him. I still want to kiss him. No! No I don't.
I groaned internally as he slid into the seat right next to mine. Of course he has to sit right next to me.
"Hey baby." He said with a smirk.
I scoffed, "Hello to you to, baby."
His smirk slowly transformed into a real grin at my mocking tone. "I knew you wouldn't be able to resist me." He winked.
I rolled my eyes and went back to paying attention to the teacher. Even though I could feel Liam's eyes on me I ignored them.
"So what did you do?"
Ny heart stopped, "What do you mean?"
"Last night you were talking about how after what you did your done if you get caught. So what'd you do?" He replied casually but Liam's eyes bore into me like he could tell what I was thinking.
"I really don't see how that concerns you." I said coldly. I met his eyes refusing to give in. After what felt like an eternity he averted his gaze first. Ha fuck you I win the unspoken staring contest. Take that!
Feeling triumphant I went back to listening to the lecture. When I looked back at Liam, he was smirking at me. What is with him? I can't seem to get away from him. I started to gaze out the window and daydream.
I'm standing at the ring getting ready to fight. I have to win this one. I bet all my cash on it. When they announce my name I hop in the ring. Fighting always calms me down. It focuses all my energy and anger into something. It's like a relief. Before long the announcer is naming me as the winner. Shocker.
I get out of the ring and grab a beer. I see Tommy head over, "Yo S, you were hot out there, as always."
I scoffed, "Yea thanks Tom." Tommy has the habit of hitting on every girl fighter in the club. As if any of us are interested.
"Oh c'mon baby don't be like that." He stepped closer as I rolled my eyes.
Suddenly Tommy was shoved out of the way. "Hey asshole I don't think she's interested." Then I see the hottest guy I have ever laid eyes. He's got short brown hair and freckles all over his chiseled face. Tattoos covered practically his entire body. I felt his eyes go up and down my body, "I'm Patrick and who are you?"
"Siobhan? Hello?" I looked at my history teacher who was currently trying to get my attention. "Since the window seems to be the only thing your paying attention to why don't you tell us the problems with the last Tsesarevich of Russia."
"Alexei had hemophilia passed through his mother's side." I said directing my attention back out the window. The teacher, obviously expecting me to get it wrong, simply looked shocked for a second then went back to his lecture.
I felt Liam's eyes on me so said, "What, I'm good at history?" He shrugged and the bell rang.
The rest of my morning classes were pretty boring. Naomi and I had physics which we spent chatting. I'm pretty sure the teacher nearly threw us out. Thankfully that was the last period before lunch because I am starving. Naomi led me to the cafeteria and we grabbed some food. I grab a sandwich and some chips. Naomi goes for a salad and fries.
"Salad and fries? Doesn't that like cancel out the healthiness?"
Before Naomi could answer Connor walked over, "See! I've been trying to tell her that for forever now."
Naomi stuck her tongue out at us while we laughed. I followed the two of them to the lunch table Conor grabbed. I took a seat across the table from them. Conor smiled and casually put his arm around Naomi. The two of them were so perfect. It was like they knew everything about each other but were still infatuated by it. Just looking at them made me smile. It made me think about what I would never be able to have.
Across the room I saw Liam flirting with some blonde. Noticing I was staring Naomi said, "That's Amanda. She's been obsessed with Liam since...well since he got here."
"Yea she's a bitch but she's hot." Conor said which prompted Naomi to smack him in the arm. "Ouch. I meant in like a fake Barbie way."
"Mmmhm" Naomi replied giving him a look that could kill. Conor and I started laughing then Naomi joined in. Suddenly the three of us were just sitting there dying of laughter. I forgot everything that had happened even for only a moment. That made me happy.
"How could you guys be so happy without me here. Truly I'm hurt. Here I was thinking I was the only one who could bring joy in your lives." Liam had walked over to our table holding his lunch tray.
"Oh how did you know? You are the light of my life Liam." I say sarcastically.
Liam smirked and sat right next to me, "So are you gonna tell me what you did now?"
The smile fell from my face. The memory of everything came back to me. Hitting me like a goddamn truck. "I'd rather not." I said coldly.
Naomi and Conor shared a look. "Hey she doesn't have to if she doesn't want to. C'mon Liam you know shit like that is private."
I gave them a small smile and focused all my attention on my food.
Hopefully I don't have to see Liam again all day.
