I RISE

4 2 1

I Rise

I rise from it all
Yes, I'll rise
From the slander and pain
I rise.

I rise from the dust
From which you trample my dignity
From the falsification without verification
From this utmost disdain, I rise

I rise from all the hurt and hunt
From the disillusion and illusions
From the stabbings with tongues so poisonous
From it all I rise, yes I rise.

I know I not perfect oh saint.
I've bloodily made my mistakes
Still, my being you've no right to devilish paint
My essence you've no right to take

Who made thee my judge?
You have your imperfections too
Never for once I against thee, judge.
Why now you thorn on my flesh too

I can't imagine going through this
The price I've paid for the nights
When your presence away with ease
The price paid I for thee with might.

Despite this aplomb, definitely, I rise
Irrespective of your tearing and howling
The blows dealt hasn't killed me
Only made me stronger and better.

I rise, dearie, I'll rise
From the pit thrown me, I'll rise
Forget not what sow surely a reap
Someday but not far away sure reap

I'll rise shining brightly like the angels
With the spoils from victory by side.
You who think perfect without blemish
Think again for thy plight soonest

I rise from this defeat
To walk tall amongst men so fit
Lessons learnt I hold firmly
Never to trust men so eagerly

My past and present you know
That's why you were a thorn
Thank God my future far from you
That definitely you can't burn

I rise, again I rise
No more bars or chains to hold bound
No more Sadducees and Pharisees to dice
I rise again to the upward bound.
