"Holly?"

"Phoenix, what happened?"

"We...fell asleep it seems like. I don't even know-"

"What time it is; me either, beloved." With new found sight, Phoenix noticed all of Holly's hair was gone; it was a boyish cut but she was unfazed as if it was a new identity she meant to carve, so he didn't protest at it. The story was beyond his comprehension but all he did find the strength to take her with him. Apparently, the whole world was still slumbering and they both were the wanderers in the night; almost like thieves, but carrying on softly on the ground, he saw more in the moonlight.

"I am sorry if I can't answer all of your questions right now. I wish I could, I wish I could be honest here but it's too painful."

"Then let's forget that now."

"How can you say that as a defense attorney? Isn't your job meant to find the truth? Take out the contradictions?"

"I can't do that with my...you know...I'm so bad at this...I just can't do that with you. I'm still so ridiculous at love..."

She clapped his hands between hers.

"You're doing better than me. I mean, I assaulted one of your oldest friends, and might go to jail because of it, but, I guess I can almost stop running because of you. You say you're lousy, look at me, clinging like a stupid teenager to you and leaving like that. I probably made everything worse. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that to you. I'm hurting someone again."

She heaved her shoulders as if tears would come when they didn't.

"Holly, please, I want to understand but, please, allow me to look inside."

"Huh? What do you mean, Phoenix?"

"I got a special ability from Maya, here, that allows me to access memories and whatnot, and I want to see if I can help you. I should have done this sooner, but I wasn't thinking."

Her hands covered his mouth.

"No need, to beloved. I rather be with you now, and just worry about the past later. I love you Phoenix Wright and it isn't just because you saved me either, because you're a great guy. You have a family, a daughter, two associates that admire and trust you, and even your rivals-friends at times, still hold you in high esteem. I have nothing. I gave up my memories to die there in that trash heap. You saved me because you're a kind and sweet man. Doesn't hurt that you're pretty handsome, too." She flashed a smile as Phoenix leaped down on her, pressing that same moonlight through them.

It was the oomph he found in her clear blue eyes.

The same one that led him to take in that moonlight, with her tiny protests, and it wasn't about the moment anymore. It was the very meeting of a lifetime.

He paused short of allowing his inner instincts kick in and instead found a moment to speak through those same lips, the same ones that always yelled objection and won cases and clients' freedom. It was the same that he exercised as he left tiny marks of his coming and goings on her neck and chest.

"I'm foolish that's for sure in love, but I know what conviction is. I know what the truth is and I found it. I allowed love to blind me once to someone's character but I'm better now. I'm better at understanding it now. I'm older and...I'm an attorney for truth."

"You're a big dork but that's what I love about you." She retorted amidst some light crackling; and surely, promises could be formed together.

"I meant what I said about us. I don't care if it's rash or-"

"I've done enough rash things for the both of us, but I'll allow you to do the same, one more time, okay? It isn't like you to be so flustered like this." She teased softly.

"Can't help it when I have a beautiful girl that I love in my arms."

"Do you think this could last? I don't want to-"

His lips matched hers harder and purer than he would say so, but heaving his own problems, he wouldn't dare let go.

"I'm still so scared. What if I am a bad person? What if they lock me away for things I've done? What if I have been running away so long...and they catch me..."

"I'll do my best to represent you or at least have either Athena or Apollo do it in my stead."

"Phoenix, beloved, then let us be so rash now, please. I feel like we won't have this chance again." Her eyes were brimming and swimming a current she wouldn't go through alone. "I'll accept your proposal, anytime."

"You mean without a ring...or...?"

"It never mattered to me at all, but, hey, I think our feelings bond us no matter what-god, that's so corny. I sound so soap operay, whatever, Phoenix, will you take me?"

"You mean?" Clueless as ever.

"I mean be my husband, you big doofus. Elope. Idiot. Just do it for the hell of it."

Could he be excused that long? Could he leave his practice for love, momentarily? What would anyone say? What did he want? It was stupid to love someone so fast, get attached, then, wanna marry them the next day, but sometimes, like truth, it can't be denied.

He threw that moonlight over his shoulders and held firm to his buckling feet, almost regaining some strength through her own convictions.

"Yes. Do you wish to leave now?"

"Yes. Leave a small note to Maya and have her deliver it to the firm. Let everyone know we'll be back and that, no one should worry. And give everyone our thanks and my dearest apologies to Edgeworth, too. I gave him unnecessary hell."

He followed the instructions well enough as his note indicated and left his Nokia phone, too.

They didn't need it now.

Idiots.

Both of them, and he could agree about the rashness of their decisions but she wanted to seize it today, right now, when they could have the power to; And with her in a new attire thanks to Maya, a simple white Yukata even if she wasn't entirely Japanese, she still was his. Still was going to seize that day with him.

"When we get back," He stopped short. "we'll solve this mystery together, okay?"

"-But as husband and wife." She added bringing some joy to his older appearance. and to him, personally.

"Is that a promise?"

"Of course, an angel's promise."
