mother I need help

The Day.

Mai got dressed and sat with her mum and sister. Her mum waved her hand over my head and she felt a crown appear. She smiled up at her and aurora. "I will miss you two a lot." Mai said. "and we will miss you. And we will send you letters regularly." aurora said. Mai smiled and heard the familiar popping sound. She looked up at Minerva "are you ready little one." she asked. Mai nodded and hugged her mum and sister whispering quiet 'I love you' to them both. She picked up Esmarelda and put her around her neck. She walked over to Minerva and took her hand as they apparated to Kings Cross. She was shown the platform and she had gotten on the train. She was looking for a compartment to sit in. She wandered off deeper into the train till she bumped into someone. Looking up she saw two boys. They looked about a year older than she is. She winced at the stinging pain in her back.

Harry and Draco were standing there, stunned by the little girl's beauty. Harry quickly recovered at the sound of her wince and bent down to help her. "I'm so sorry. We were in a rush to find our friends" he apologized. The pain was still evident in her face, "would you like to join us" Draco had asked her to which she had nodded. Harry took her hand and led her into a compartment. Inside another blonde girl and a brown haired boy sat. "Harry. Draco. I was wondering where you were. Who's this"  the girl asked in a fond voice. Mai had suddenly found her voice as they looked t her. "I-I'm Mai." she stuttered out as she looked down. "well I'm Luna. This is Harry, Draco and Neville" she said and pointed to each one, while Mai gave a small wave to the others. "you look like a fairy" Neville said which caused her to smile. "I am a fairy" she said. Harry's eyes widen in surprise. "don't fairies have wings" he asked and she nodded her head slowly. "I had wings once. They were taken from me" she said and looked down. Luna stood up and hugged the girl out of sympathy. "how did you loose them" Neville asked her.
"well I came back from helping someone. When I was outside the forest a man came up from behind me and grabbed me and used iron to burn off my wings." she said as a tear slipped down her cheek.

They all kept talking as the ride went on, eating sweets, laughing and joking. The train came to a stop. Mai was already wearing her robes and made her way outside to where the first year's were, while her friends went another way. She sat in one of the boats as it drifted over the black lake. She got off and followed every one to where Minerva was standing. She told them to wait so that she can bring everything to order.
Mai kept looking around her while waiting.

She walked inside while admiring the ceiling. She came to a stop and looked at the hat on the chair. "when I call your name, you may come forward. I will place the sorting hat on your head and it will tell us in which house you are" she instructed and called out the first few names. "Mai Phoenixlight" she called out. The small girl walked up to the stool and sat down. The hat was placed on her head ' oh little one. A heart brighter than gold, yet an extremely painful past. Very painful indeed. And a mother who has left her dark ways for love. Her children. And a princess no less. Mmm. You would be a perfect healer for the slytherins' he said. ' I would like to heal them sir' she thought. 'very well then' " SLYTHERIN" It yelled out. The table erupted into cheers. She walked over to the blonde from the train, who welcomed her with a hug. "Great job Mai" he said and helped her onto the bench.

After the sorting seremony had finished and the food had appeared. Mai packed a few things onto her plate and ate soundlesly. When everyone was done, Draco took her to the common room, where she found her dorm and went to sleep.
