Epilogue

3 years later

"BABY WHAT'S THIS?!"

The couple was in their home chilling while eating a tub of ice cream together. Qianxi just got back from the bathroom and Lingling was annoyed for the ruckus he was making.

"What's what, babe?" She asked him while shoving another spoonful of ice cream into her mouth.

Qianxi showed her the object in his hands. His face was filled with excitement and joy while quietly waiting for her to break it to him.

"A pregnancy test?" Lingling furrowed her brows.

"TWO LINES!" Qianxi was still overexcited about it meanwhile it somewhat confused him too as in why Lingling wasn't as excited as he was.

"Yea, babe you're gonna be a daddy!" Lingling smiled and hugged him tightly.

"Really?" Qianxi hugged her back tightly with the test still in his palm.

"But I wasn't so sure about the test yet so I wanted to confirm it with a doctor first before breaking the news to you, babe." Lingling said softly "I didn't want you to feel disappointed if I'm not really having a baby."

"Well... what are we waiting for? Let's go." Qianxi said and grabbed his keys. Oh and yea, he still did not let go of the stick.

The drive to the clinic was joyful for Qian Xi but anxiety for Lingling. She was scared of what if it might be her body that was tricking her meanwhile Qian Xi was overly joyful about the fact that he might be a dad soon. He's too excited to be exact.

At the clinic, the waiting room was nearly empty except for one couple that was in their late '30s and one in their teens.

A thought hit Lingling when she saw the situation at the clinic. She thought people might be out celebrating their pregnancy other than staying at the clinic. Another thought could be that they refused to go to the doctor because they believe the pregnancy test, which she may add that she doesn't, they could be triggering you. Nah, who am she to kidding?

The waiting for wasn't long. To be sincere, she didn't even get to sit down before they got called in.

When they were seated inside the doctor's office, Qian Xi took over the lead and told the doctor about her condition. He got so excited that he didn't let her tell him about her situation, feelings or concern.

"Mrs. Yi I would like you to lift up your shirt and lay down on the bed. I'm going to do an ultrasound scan to check what's happening inside of you" the doctor smiled at her and joked.

Qian Xi led her to the bed and helped her lift up her shirt. He was seated near her and looked overexcited into the screen where a small clump appeared. 

"Congrats Mr. Yi, your wife is pregnant. She's about one month and three weeks into her pregnancy. " Mr. Yu from the clinic said to them, "Have you lately been experiencing morning sickness and have you checked when was the last time you got your period? It could be a sign, remember?"

Qian Xi and Lingling looked at each other before they nodded their head to the doctor's question. 

"Why didn't you come over when you experienced pregnancy symptoms?" Mr. Yu asked Lingling.

"Oh, I must've been busy lately that I didn't notice I missed out on my period." She admitted, "but lately I've been vomiting for some time. It depends on the circumstances. I've only been vomiting if I smell certain things. "

"I see... anyway, during the first trimester, I suggest you to not stress yourself as it'll be hard for the baby and you need to take care of yourself more. With some help from your husband, I don't think there would be any problems." Mr. Yu smiled.

"Baby, why don't you take a break off work? I can get a new secretary while you stay at home, hmm?" Qianxi suggested.

"But won't that mean I get to see you less?" She asked looking slightly hurt at the thought of her spending less quality time with her husband.

"Ahaha, the mood swings have started." Mr. Yu laughed "Now please leave my office, thank you."

After they left the office, they continued on their loving conversation about replacement and /ehem/ lunch.

"No no baby, I mean I can work at home while we get a new secretary to be at the office, how bout that?" Qianxi suggested again.

"Hmm... Alright. That sounds like a good idea." She smiled.

Qianxi gently kissed her forehead and smiled. "Well baby, I guess you're pregnant and from now on, you won't be my baby anymore."

"Aww, why not?" She smiled slightly hitting him on the arm.

"Cause you'll be my baby mama." Qianxi joked "So now, where does my baby mama wanna have lunch at?"

"Hmmm... PIZZA!" Lingling screaming excitedly while hopping into the car.

"Babe, let's tell Pearl about her new baby sibling," Lingling said excitedly.

"Later, when she gets home from school. Chill baby." Qianxi said.

A year after they got married, Pearl's biological parents got reported for accepting bribery and went for a trial. They were found guilty, so Pearl has been transferred back to their care, which made her officially a member of the Yi family. About having a sibling, Pearl has been wanting one for a long time that she'll be so excited to find out about the news.

"Babe, I can't believe things are going our way even when we least expected it to be," Lingling said.

"Yea baby, I know. I'm ever so grateful for everything. I love you a lot."

"I know babe, I love you too."

"But what should we name our baby?" Qianxi suddenly asked.

"Chill babe, we have 8 more months to figure it out," Lingling said and playfully hit him.

"No baby, it has to be perfect, like Pearl's." Qianxi said,  "We have to start brainstorming."

"Alright, we will. Don't rush me."
