Chapter 9: i thought it was okay. PART 1

"Dad! No, no, no... please, you can't leave me!"

30 minutes before the raid at Ten Pines Bluff

I pick up my costume and stare at it. "Today, Ella, you save countless lives that Magneto stole..." I say to my self. I put on my hero suit and tie my hair back. I stare in out the window and i felt someone touch my shoulder. 

"Ella?"

I turn and smile. It's Kurt. "Hey, what's up?" i say. He shuffles around before chuckling. "Just wanted to tell you to be careful." He says. I roll my eyes. "Yeah, i will. My leg feels better, i think i might just have to be wary about running." I say. I place both my hands on his shoulders and give him a reassuring smile. He smiles back and hugs me tight. I hug him back and after pulling away, i walk out of my room, Kurt following. 

The living room is filled with xmen, mostly Jean, Scott, Peter and Maggie. My dad notices me and smiles, for what seems like the first time. "Hey, kid." He says, ruffling my hair. I grin and look at Maggie, who elbows Peter in the side to get his attention. "Okay, so, Kurt, Ella, and Logan will go in first and grab as many kids as they can. Me and Peter will draw attention to the main gate."

We all nod. "What about me and Jean?" Scott asks. "You stay here and tend Hank and Charles." My dad states. Jean and Scott agree and walk to the office.

I hug Maggie and whisper to her to be careful. "Im Maggie! Careful is my middle name..~" she smirks. i roll my eyes and walk inside, trailing behind my dad and Kurt. "You ready Half-pint?" he asks. i nod and jump down the hatch. I look around at the cans of waste and shudder. "Why would Magneto do this?" I whisper. "Magneto used to be a good man.." Dad mutters. I walk to the door and look at my father. "Do you want to tear it down or do you want me to melt it?" 

"Melt it."

Kurt watches as i use my flames to melt the door down. We go through and my eyes narrow. "Alright hurry-"

"Well, i didn't expect Mr. Howlett to be here..." A familiar voice says. 

I look around and feel something sharp hit me in the chest. Im knocked over and i land on my back. "Ella!" Kurt yells. I try to get up but something holds me down. My father looks around and grunts. "Magneto! Show yourself, coward!"

I manage to wiggle out and stand up, but my breathing is quick and frantic. Kurt puts my arm around his shoulder to help me stand. "Your daughter is weak, Mr.Howlett... have you not trained her to be as cold-hearted as you?" 

I narrow my eyes. "Shut up, magnet man!" i screech. Dad looks back at me with a look that says 'don't provoke him!'. I remove my arm from Kurt's shoulder and walk up to my father, looking around. "What do you want Magneto?" i yell. Kurt looks around before yelling "Look out!" 

Before i can move, a pole hits my father straight in the stomach, thankfully not piercing the skin. I use my fire and throw a fire ball in the direction of which the pole came from, hitting Magneto in the process. I smirk and run up to the direction and throw more fire. 

Magneto stares at me before smiling evilly. "Ah, so you're his daughter? A small but tough girl, i'll give him that." 

I ball up my hands, fire surrounding my fist and throw my fists at him. He catches it but i throw another punch, hitting his ribs. He grunts and throws me over the rails. Luckily, i catch myself. "Leave my kid alone!" 

I pick myself up and i stare at Kurt then at Magneto. Magneto notices me, smirks and looks back at my father. "Say, what would happen if i.. oops.."

Suddenly, bars and poles come down from the ceiling and landing every where besides us.  Magneto manages to get out but we were trapped. "Ella, Kurt, get over here!" My father yells. We try and run to him but a pole falls on top of him.

"Dad!" i scream.  Kurt runs to his side. 

My father whispers something to Kurt before Kurt backs away from him. He shakes his head but dad nods. Kurt looks back at me and ports to me. "Ella, we have to go-"

"What? We can't leave him!" 

Kurt frowns and narrows his brow. "Listen to me, please! He wants us out of here. I'm sorry."

I shake my head and try to run to my father before Kurt grabs my hand and ports us out.
