*Sorry I took so long to update. I've lost track with thanksgiving, finals, Christmas, and chores.

Inuyasha's P.O.V.

I looked up from my hands and wiped the tears away from my eyes. I was still thinking about what had just happened and what I had just heard. "She hates me?"I questioned myself. Then answered my own question by saying, "Of course she hates me. Look what I did to get. I hurt the one person that truly cared for me. The one person I loved hates now. I betrayed the one person that cared for me. I loved her and I turned my back on her for someone who isn't even part of this world anymore. What kind of person am I?" After a few minutes with my face back in my hands, looked out towards where she had ran and yelled,"I love you, Kagome! I love you! Please come back to me! I love you! I could never hate you, Kagome! I've always loved you!"

I then noticed a smell that was burning my nose. 'Kagome must be back. That's the same scent I found in the forest.' I thought. So I got up and as I did, I heard the leaves crackle, something snap, and Kagome scream. I quickly ran to where her voice was heard only to find Kagome struggling to try and run so she didn't have to face me. I began to smell her blood and it smelled like alot of it. I looked over and saw that it was dripping from her side.

"Kagome, please. Allow me to help." I said as she screamed. I tried to grab her hand. The tears were flooding her cheeks as I tried to help and she tried to run. I helped her up but she screamed and fell back down. I instantly squatted down and caught Kagome.

At first she hesitated but then she finally told me what was wrong. The snap I had heard earlier was Kagome's leg breaking and when she fell, her arrow bag had fallen and one arrow stabbed her in the side. I picked her up bridal style and I could tell by the way she looked at and away from me that she was uncomfortable. I took her back inside and dressed her side wound.

She kept giving me this weird look that I couldn't explain. It looked like a mix of sadness, anger, and fear. I wanted to talk to her but I was afraid. She ended up being the first one to speak. And even as she spoke I heard the sadness and fear in her voice. The little bit of anger that I saw before was replaced by more sadness.

"Inuyasha, why are you here?" she asked with a small hint of the anger that I thought disappeared. "Shouldn't you be with Kikyo? She's probably looking for you. If I was her, I'd be a little worried if my man was out with another girl. You should get back to her."

I was surprised. Kagome's voice and face had stayed the same but her eyes were different. They weren't filled with compassion and kindness like before but instead hatred and bitterness. Bitterness toward me. I didn't know how to reply to the question at first but words finally came from my lips. "I came to make sure you were ok. You ran away before I could explain myself. I left Kikyo so I could search for you. My duty is to protect you and keep you safe. You need to know the truth Kagome. I think I'm in love wi-"  Kagome interrupted me. "With Kikyo I know....remember, I heard your conversation with her. I know exactly what you said and who you said it to! Don't remind me of that woman! She is the last person I want to hear about right now! Don't every bring up that wretched woman again, Inuyasha." She calmed down a bit. "I'm sorry, Inuyasha, I just....don't want to be reminded of the pain. You should get back to Kikyo. She's probably looking for you." she said with an expression so gloomy and morose that it almost made me cry.

She slowly turned and walked back into her cave. Not even a quarter or the way there she stepped on her broken leg in the wrong way and fell to the ground with a *thud* and a scream. I smelled her blood and immediately got worried. I sprinted over to her side to see her holding her side. I gently moved her hand to see her entire hand and clothes soaked in blood. The ground had a red puddle forming on it as well. Her wound had opened before she fell and Ihadn't noticed it until now. She'd lost to much blood. She looked at me softly, whispered my name with tears in her eyes, and collapsed in my arms. I screamed out her name hoping to wake her.

"Kagome? Kagome? Kagome?! Kagome?!........KAGOME!!!!! I began to cry. As I sobbed over her corpse I blamed myself and cursed the name of Kikyo for ever interfering with our love. Now Kagome was gone....and it was all my fault. 'I'm sorry Kagome, I failed you again.'
