Hi! I am relatively new to writing so don't hate me. I have always wanted a Harringrove fanfic where billy finds out about the upside down but could never find the right one for me, so I am writing it 👍
ignore the grammar mistakes sorry 🤷‍♀️

This will be in 3rd POV but from mainly Billy's perspective, you get what I am saying?

Warnings: slight swearing

Stupid. Useless. Not worth it.
These were just a few of the words Billy had gotten from his dad that night. It wasn't as bad as normal seeing as Neil was too drunk to even stand tonight, but it still got to him. It used to get to him a lot more, however, since he has been seeing Harrington, something has changed. He fights a lot less with Max, can handle his dad more, and is just generally a happier person nowadays. That's what billy loved about steve, he made him a better person. Sure he still got in fights and smoked and shit, but it was different now.

He uses the term 'seeing' lightly. He didn't really now what they were, but he knew he wanted to be something with Steve.

That's where he was headed now, Steve's house. He need to cool off and get away from his dad and he knew Steve wouldn't mind, as he had crashed over many nights in the past five months since they had started really hanging out. And he knew Steve's parents wouldn't be home so they would have the place to themselves.

He was just turning down to he street to Harrington's house when something came out of the woods to his right and hit the windshield.
"Jesus!" Billy exclaimed as he slammed the brakes. The creature looked to be a big dog of some kind. It let out a loud whine before turning off into the woods again before billy could get a good look at the damage he'd done. He pulled the car to a stop to slow his breathing before continuing. He was still a little shaky when he reach Steve's.

He pulled into the drive and slammed to door, subconsciously looking around him for something to jump out again. Steve answered the door after 30 seconds, and billy caught a glimpse of a worried brow as he opened the door, before Steve relaxed realizing it was Billy.
"Are you ok?" Steve asked, concern barely noticeable in his voice. He knew why billy was here. Billy had confided in him about his dad a month ago, and Steve was both heartbroken for him and honored to be the first person he talks to about it. He wanted him to talk to hopper and had even suggested it a couple of times, but billy would always get mad at him when he did.
"I'm fine, I am not hurt, just had to get out of the house." Billy answered. Steve nodded before opening the door to let him in. Billy missed steve's paranoid glance outside before he shut the door.

"I was just making dinner you want some?" Steve asked as they walked into the kitchen.
"I'll have a little, I already ate." Billy responded. They talking normally through out the meal, but Steve kept looking at billy strangely. By the end of the meal Steve finally asked what he had been wondering.
"Will you tell me what really wrong now?" Steve took billy had in his as he asked this. Billy looked back at him confused
"I did tell you, my dad had a few to many drinks and got to yelling as he normally does." Billy answered with furrowed brow.
"I know you did, but I also know you. And when he just yells at you, you get mad, but you don't shake like you did when you came in here." Steve said sincerely.
"Oh that," billy answer, "that's nothing, I hit a dog when I was driving over here. I was still a little shaky when I got here. No need to worry." He chuckled, but Steve's face only became more worried.
"Dog? What kind of dog?"
"I don't know, a black one."
"How big was it."
"What?"
" How big was it, the dog."
"Why is that important?"
"How big?"
"I don't remem-
"Try to."
"Big."
"Billy-"
"Look, I don't remember steve! It hit my windshield and then was gone before I could get a good look." Billy answer "Why are you grilling me on this?" He let go of Steve's had and stood to put his dishes away. Steve stayed silent, and billy mistook this for hurt. He sighed, Steve was paranoid person, probably due to having to look after the little shits, but he got mad when Steve treating him like a kid he was babysitting. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't yell at you, I am just a little work up today, ok?" He said as tried to get Steve to look him in the eye.
"It's fine." Steve said shortly. This was a beat of silence before Steve spoke again. "I'm tried how about we go to bed." He said abruptly. Once again billy took his fear for pain from hims own doings.
"Look I am sor-"
"It's fine billy, I am really not mad, but let's get to bed. Leave the dishes we'll do the in the morning."
Billy decided not to argue and let Steve push him upstairs.

He changed into some pjs he had brought over to Steve's place and got into bed, wrapping his arms around Steve. He quickly fell into sleep, but was unaware of the fear he a awoken and in his partner. Big, black dogs were not just dogs to Steve.

Chapter one! I hope it is not too bad, it feels really short sorry.
