"hey! sophia and wyatt are finally here." josie yelled from the front door.

indie felt a wave of excitement and nervousness wash over her as she stood. she walked over to the group and smiled when she saw her friends.

"hi! it's so good to see you guys!" she exclaimed and pulled them both into a hug.

when they pulled away sophia spoke. "thank you for inviting us, and happy birthday!" she held out a gift.

indigo's eyes widened. "you didn't have to get me anything!" sophia shook her head and put the present in her hands.

"I insist." both girls smiled.

"well, thank you." sophia nodded. "you both brought your swimsuits, right?" she asked both of them.

sophia simply nodded and wyatt said,"yup."

"there's a lot of people here," sophia muttered as they walked inside.

"I didn't know you were so popular, indie." wyatt stared with wonder at the people dancing and playing games.

indigo giggled. "so, do you guys want a drink or something?" the strawberry blonde questioned.

"sure!"

"yeah."

"okay, come on." she motioned them over to the kitchen where she pulled out some soda.

wyatt grabbed a dr pepper, then leaned on the kitchen counter. "are the other losers here yet?"

"jack, jeremy, and finn are, but jaeden and chosen are running late."

"ah."

indie smiled, and grabbed sophia's and wyatt's hands, then dragged them out of the kitchen. "let's go find them."

"o-okay." wyatt said through laughs.

indigo brought them outside and to jack, jeremy, and finn were. the three of them were sitting by her pool talking to ava and another one of indie's friends.

"jaeden! chosen!" indie shouted when they walked through the door. she ran over to them and hugged them tightly.

"happy birthday!" jaeden yelled over the music.

she grinned. "thanks!" she brought them to the other losers, who were outside in her backyard. "you guys wanna get in the pool?" indigo asked.

"Yeah!"

she smiled. "okay, for those of you who didn't come in your swimsuit—the bathroom is down the hall and to the left." she informed everyone.

indie pulled off her shirt, revealing her blue bikini, then she slipped off her jeans. "I love your bikini!" sophia complimented as she took off her dress.

"thank you!" the strawberry blonde sat her clothes on a chair and turned on her phone. she turned on bluetooth then went to her spotify and clicked the song ribs by lorde. she turned the volume up, put her phone on the chair, and sat down by the edge of the pool. she slipped her toes into the cool water and smiled at the cold feeling.

she nodded along to the music as she watched her friends jump into the pool and splash around.

"hey, again." a voice said from beside her. she turned her head and looked up, her eyes locked with wyatt's

"hey."

"can I sit?" he asked, she nodded in reply. he sat down next to her and put his hands in his lap. "I got you something." he pulled out a small box from his pocket.

"you didn't have to get me—"

he chuckled. "—just shut up and take it." indie shut her mouth and grabbed the box.

she opened it slowly and pulled out the contents. it was a necklace with a small coin-shaped charm.

she grinned widely at the sight. "thank you, I love it." she said as she turned to him.

he smiled sheepishly. "you're welcome, and happy birthday."

"could you help me put it on?" wyatt nodded, a blush forming on his face.

he took the necklace from her, and she turned around so he could put it on. wyatt gently moved her hair aside, indigo felt a shiver run down her spine as his fingers brushed her skin.

he wrapped the necklace around her neck and clipped it shut.

when he was finished the strawberry blonde turned back around and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. "thank you again." she whispered into his neck.

indie pulled away and smiled at wyatt again, then she grabbed his hand.

he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, but soon he found out why she grabbed his hand.

indigo leaned to the right and fell into the pool, and since wyatt was holding onto her hand he tumbled into the pool too.

wyatt quickly held his breath before he hit the water, and once he was fully submerged he opened his eyes.

indie was inches in front of him, smiling, and holding back a laugh since she was underwater. wyatt shook his head at her, trying not to smile too, however, he failed because indie's smile was so contagious.

wyatt swore he saw her eyes flicker to his lips for a split second. his heart rate quickened as she leaned closer to him.

he met her in the middle and pressed his lips onto hers.

indigo kissed back, her right hand on his neck and her left hand on his chest. wyatt pulled her closer, deepening the kiss.

and just as sudden as the kiss started, it ended, because both teens needed air.

indie rose to the surface, gasping for air and blushing madly.

she pushed her hair out of her face and turned to wyatt. he was bright red and beaming.

indigo bit her lip nervously, still not knowing how to act or feel.

wyatt ran his hands through his wet hair. "wow." he breathed out and she giggled nervously.
