Chapter I: Cramped
The house seemed to be getting smaller.
Woody was well aware of how big the house was, yes. He'd been living there his entire life. He has seen it through many a storm, many broken appliances and furniture, many mishaps that costed a fortune. Honestly, he was fascinated that the house was even still standing.
But they were running out of room for all the Pixars they lived there, and the ones that were to be made in the future. Hell, they didn't even have room for their kids—which was why they had to live next door to the adults, being supervised by Carl Fredricksen. The house wasn't exactly fit for 22 people, anyway. There were only two bathrooms (one for the girls, the other for the guys), so that aroused enough problems when it came to hygiene and routines. But there were also the issues of groceries, laundry, housing bills, and overall, personal space. Hardly anyone had privacy anymore. The walls were not soundproof, so many secrets were exposed and many couples had been 'caught in the act'.
But what could they do? They were fairly well-off when it came to money, but to find or build a house that would be big enough for all of them was way out of the budget.
So instead of even trying to save up, the Pixars chose to drown their sorrows in whiskey and pop tarts.
Woody had started to take notice to the issue when he caught Mater taking a shower with the garden house in the backyard (which wasn't even a yard, really). But as he sat at the dining room table, really having time to observe the chaos, he realized just how bad it was. Remy was all by himself in the kitchen, being the only Pixar who could actually cook (sometimes with Imelda, but apparently she was watching the kids today). He was on the verge of a breakdown now that he burned the bacon and still had at least 12 more pancakes to make. And this was only breakfast, the other meals were much worse than this. Four girls were standing in line behind the closed bathroom door, impatiently waiting for Merida to finish bathing (but that would take ages, due to her thick, untamed hair that took hours to maintain). Jessie had even resorted to just brushing her teeth at the kitchen sink. And poor Ian, who was new and was already given a tough time adjusting to this life, was walking around the whole house with only one laundry basket, picking up dirty shirt after dirty shirt. Since this was the weekend, laundry was scattered all over, and no one understood why. Rather it was a bra or a jacket, there was always something just out in the open.
Woody sighed, shaking his head. "Alright, this is ridiculous." He said to himself, then stood up abruptly, "I call a Pixar meeting!" He announced loudly, which caught everyone's attention. Well, almost everyone.
"Oh thank Luxo." Remy sighed heavily, placing the scorched pan into the sink, which got in Jessie's way.
"Hey, I'm brushing my teeth here!" She said, though it came out incoherent with the toothpaste in her mouth.
Not a moment later, Mike Wazowski, the group leader/supervisor, ran into the room, with nothing but a bathrobe to cover himself. "Did someone say Pixar meeting?" He asked, oddly enthusiastic. Unlike the others, he loved having meetings, the mandatory monthly ones or random ones that were called like this one. It was one of the few times he got to express himself, and it was the only time the Pixars had to listen to him; Luxo's orders.
Luxo had put him in charge of the group for when he wasn't around, to handle the household and personal business, to be their guide when he couldn't be. He knew the moment he created Mike that he was perfect for the job. Mike still remembered the exact words he'd said on his Swearing-In day. "Michael, if there is anyone I trust with my creations, to guide them, to support them, to be the shoulder they lean on, to be there for them, it's you. This family will only grow, and I don't see it growing without your leadership."
